17 suspected monkeypox cases in Montreal | Officials say it’s ‘not highly contagious’ or severe

Montreal Public Health said it's asking health workers to be alert for monkeypox after seeing 17 suspected cases in the area over the last week.

    1. Yes you can walk around and it is not contagious like covid or the flu. Transmission happens with close personal contact and if you get it, there is no treatment and you just have to wait it out.

  2. When you have air quote’s like ” not highly contagous”, then it is contagious in a crowded place.

No it is spread through close contact , it doesnt have to be sex , the liquid inside the bumps is infectious until the scabs heal , so if you touch someone who has the rash you can catch it or if you touch the bedding they have been using , or sharing cutlery or if you get coughed on it is also in the droplets .
