Who is saying the man threw a bottle? If you are a trained police officer you should be able to deescalate a situation, and have the skill to subdue a person. A trigger happy officer doesn’t have the mentality to be in law enforcement.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. People with phds can’t get disturbed people to not act violently if that’s their intent. A police officer who isn’t trained in that field is supposed to talk down a person who wants to attack him? Where do you people live? Csi land? Bearing in mind this is a party event. How do you know the attacker wasn’t under the influence of alcohol or ganja? How do you know he hasn’t had a mental issue before? The policeman was hit in the head with a bottle! Newsflash…the frontal region of the brain is responsible for reasoning and judgement…the very area he was hit with a bottle. Could that have impacted his decision making and aim in that situation? Is it possible that having hit the officer with the bottle the attacker was in the process of continuing that attack when he was shot? Is it possible the second man was also moving to attack the officer along with his cousin?. There are many unanswered questions but, Jamaicans, being the criminal loving people they are will give the person who attacked the officer the benefit of the doubt but won’t extend that same benefit of the doubt to the officer who was attacked! You people sick stomach!

@Wayne 2 people are dead. Police shouldn’t be judge jury and executioner. It’s safe to assume there were several police at the party, so they couldn’t subdue one man with a bottle? I’m not on any criminal side, but neither can I support police killing without investigation and trial. There’s tons of evidence that proper training results in less violence. It seems you’re ok with blood and death as long as you get to decide the victim. That’s no solution. I’d like to see witnesses other than police, photos of the supposed broken bottle and injury to the face and medical records. If you don’t have evidence, it’s just a killing.
Now what if it had happen to you all who is saying could have been dealt with differently. Would you not have done the same thing as the police? I know i would have if he is well known to the family then that person wanted to look or feel big. All this could could have been avoided if respect was shown and no bottle thrown.
