Little Secret Paradise

Sisserou_parrot.jpgDominica lies almost in the centre of the arc of islands known as the Lesser Antilles. This arc extends from the Trinidad-Grenada Passage in the south up to the Anegada Passage between the Virgin islands and Anguilla. These islands of the Lesser Antilles are of volcanic origin. They have rugged mountains in the central areas and narrow coastal shelves and valleys. On the more mountainous islands, south of Montserrat, numerous streams flow from the rain drenched central highlands. the formation of these islands began million of years ago along a section of the sea bed where two of the several tectonic plates which make up the crust of the planet collided. —-more
