First-time claims for unemployment benefits totaled 3.8 million in the week ending April 25, after factoring in seasonal adjustments, according to the US Department of Labor. The adjustments accounted for around 300,000 claims.
The latest figures bring the total number of first-time claims to 30.3 million over the past six weeks — representing roughly 18.6% of the US labor force. CNN's Christine Romans and Julia Chatterley explain.

And the international community should also sanction China until they repay stolen intellectual property, and cease violating the Law of the Sea.
