This may be the year 2021, but it feels like white Americans still see black Americans as slaves to them.
If the system was working, cops would not use excessive force against civilians, racism would not be acceptable in policing and nobody would be subjected to far-right extremist propaganda when they tune in to Fox “News” because broadcasters would have to satisfy basic ethical standards.
True, we don’t want the police to be killing people, and certainly not execution-style once the person is restrained, but sometimes they have to such as when one person has a weapon and is actively threatening the lives of others. In a case like that if the police don’t shoot to take that person down, innocent people can get hurt or killed. What are they supposed to do in an active shooter situation, talk to the shooter really nicely and try to convince them to give up?
