  1. Nanny was not an obeah woman , Nanny used her AFRICAN culture and defeated the British army. Nanny bottom was a defensive player from gun shots.

    • Really(American women). No one else can tell our true history but us BLACKS. She needs to realize that none of us are interested in listening to her, she will not and cannot teach us about our history.
Mama Nanny you were indeed a true warrior, you used our true African Spirituality and defeated the British but many of us do not even show respect to her and her brothers❤

I’m definitely going to go and get this book. I can assume that most of us Jamaican bearly know anything on this amazing woman only from what we learnt in school. As a Jamaican we have an archenemy which is reading 📚 books and because of that we don’t educate ourselves the right way. So, what I’m going to do is buy this book and see what more there is to OUR QUEEN NANNY OF THE MAROONS.

It’s a shame because a person who isn’t Jamaican or of Jamaican descendants has more information about our national heroine than us Jamaicans

Takes a white woman to write our history

  12. She researched and wrote the book. There r archives in Jamaica that holds the history right there at UWI and libraries, she just happened to write the book.

  13. There is history now a days on the World Wide Web. Just type in what u r interested in and it pops up. Let’s look up our hero’s Sam Sharp, Nanny, Codjoe, Paul Bogle etc.
