Abrams and Kemp face off in heated Georgia governor’s debate

Republican Gov. Brian Kemp and Democrat Stacey Abrams sparred over health care, crime and punishment, and voting rights in a debate as they made their final appeal to voters in a reprise of their fiercely contested 2018 race for the same job. CNN national politics reporter Eva McKend and CNN political director David Chalian have more. #CNN #News

  1. There was a whole other person in this debate that if you only watched CNN you wouldn’t know was part of the debate.

  2. Just remember *when she does lose* that Independents decided the race & not Republicans. Sometimes you just have bad ideas.

  3. Sometimes I give up questioning the candidates because it’s clear as day who should win the election. It’s the voters in Georgia are the ones I’m questioning… I mean are most of the people that live there are idiots? Who can’t tell between right and wrong?? jeez….

    1. Democracy shaming is weird. Don’t forget both parties are corporations things aren’t always as they seem. Both of them are hot garbage.

  4. So a Libertarian was on the stage and you acknowledged him but you didn’t include any of what he said in your coverage? 😡 Shame on you. That earns you a thumbs down. I want to hear from EVERY candidate on the stage. Do you realize how hard it is as a third party to even be allowed to be included in the debate?

  5. “I love my family, I will always love them, and that’s what I say, and stuff.”
    “… and I don’t have any violence.”

    1. He gave out tax refunds😒 sooooooo. What about hospitals closing, investment companies buying up whole communities, passing restrictive Abortion laws, and making it easier for individuals to get guns, who shouldn’t have them.

  6. Ignore polls, good or bad. Vote. Get your people ready to vote. Governor and Senate races are not dominated by House gerrymandering. While you’re there, vote House seats too.

  7. I’m visualizing S.A. with her arms up in the air saying Ty to everyone who voted to make her the new Governor.

    1. Keep on visualizing it, that’s as close as it will ever come. She couldn’t win if she was the only candidate on the ballot!

    2. That’s all good just don’t ever let her in your kitchen because she is all your damn food I seen her going to Jack in The box one time they lock the doors

  8. Love how they bring gas prices and inflation when so much of it has been shown to be the result of price gouging and OPEC cutting production and raising prices to cripple the US for our support of Ukraine. Saudis are Republican allies — that should give a lot of people pause.

  9. “ I’m tired of hearing about being the best state in the country to do business when we are the worst state in the country to live.” Stacy Abrams.

    1. She said this because Georgia has the highest mortality rate in the US. It has the second highest rate of people with no health insurance. The 6th highest rate in infant mortality and 9th in gun violence. Georgia is 48th in mental health and the 50th in minimum wages. I think she was justified in what she said.

    2. @Lorraine McFarland Right, ppl act like they don’t understand what she means. But she is just very passionate. I hope she wins

  10. All about people and back up with support for Governor of the Abrams on GA a congratulations 👍🇺🇲🙏 peaceful.

  11. Remember Kemp had people out collecting the voting ballots of the elderly and throwing them out this happened so let’s see if he does it again!
