If you know the history of that part of the world over the last 2500 years you know the fighting and killing there has nothing to do with an American president only in office a few months or any American president for that matter. No one has ever been in control there for millennia . Most recently the Russians werenāt in control, the Americans werenāt ever in control (regardless who was US president) , the Afghan government was never in control and now clearly the Taliban isnāt in control. The Taliban were just humiliated by one of their many rival warlords. Sadly the tragic history of Afghanistan continues and will continue unfortunately regardless of what entity tries to ābe in controlā. 4 previous presidents failed to extract the US from an endless war that had no meaningful goal for the US. While the human loss due to todays cruel bombings is staggering just know that there is an end in sight to American sons and daughters dying there in years to come because one guy stood up and took full responsibility to make leaving there a reality.
