@David Goldman term limits isn’t by itself, the answer. With corporate money in politics, term limits will create an even more corrupt class of legislators, not worried about losing a seat with a finite term.
On the surface, it seems sound, but in practice, even more disruptive.
1. End corporate financing.
2. End lobbies
3. End gerrymandering on the federal level
4. Reinstitute the voting rights act
5. Re-engage the civic duty of government through education funding.
6. Create more ways of oversight to keep government accountable.
Term limits is a band aid on a severed head.
And I’m old enough to know a bartender with a master’s degree, or college professor/ soccer mom makes a better public servant than a lawyer born into a wealthy family with generations in politics….

But, gauging by the titles, you are upset that Barr followed well know DOJ protocols of not discussing an investigation that could affect an election, and not mentioning an investigation until charges are brought. @David Goldman I researched this. Obama built emergency facilities to house intact families with a maximum stay of 72 hours. He didn’t separate families, hold them indefinitely, deport parents then sell their kids. He also didn’t institute forced sterilization of young women.

He built the facilities to hold overflow and there was a 72 he turn around time to process these immigrants. Jeff sessions said the policy of taking children from their parents was intentionally designed to scare asylum seekers from even trying to come to America. This was and is a cruel, punitive measure forwarded by a cruel administration.
@Kay Aderhold the insanity of this situation is that it wasn’t just people coming across illegally. Many of these people were legal asylum seekers. There were several cases of american citizens being illegally detained in the camps while crossing back into the US from being abroad. One teenaged boy from Louisiana was held for 6 weeks without cause. Both parents and himself born American citizens. He reported being assaulted by ICE, underfed, held in overcrowded facilities with very sick people who received no medical care. He just happened to be brown.
@Kay Aderhold again, most were detained at legal crossings. Illegal crossing is a misdemeanor. This was purely punitive. And it’s a gross human rights violation.

Just repeating “take them to your house then” doesn’t absolve the criminal acts of the trump administration regarding these families. My god, the courts said to reunite these kids over and over. And the young girls who got pregnant while in custody… do you really think a teenaged girl or for that matter, a grown woman was in a position to consent under these circumstances? Then to claim these kids were abandoned and adopting them out? Your trite response of well dont be an illegal shows that you don’t know what you are talking about.

Barr is and always has been a republican stooge. Not a Trump stooge. The republican leadership are worried about going directly against Trump, but are no longer directly supporting him. So they are sending their stooges to restore some sort of order. This is only my opinion.
He needed to be a stand up guy when it really mattered. You were part of feeding the monster. It is a bit too late now.
I disagree, it is a bit better than “just in time” for not being prosecuted. About his reputation, well …. he has enough money to retire comfortably. If he writes a book, he will title it “Damage Control”, and the subtitle: “I Sacrificed My Reputation For The Country”.
