    1. @Franz Ludwig What does the Bible say about accomplishing things in an unjust, immoral and shady manner? If a justice is squeezed in under these circumstances all that will be accomplished is making abortion and Ginsberg martyrs. Not too mention the same people that could care less about human life (it’s okay, it’s old people)and don’t want to wear a mask are the same people that care about controlling women. NOBODY believes republicans care about human life or quality of life, you’ve lost that privilege and all respect.

    McConnell WILL invoke the nuclear option.

    McConnell will bring a vote, it will just be if any Republicans have a conscious to cast a vote in favor of a new lifetime appointee less than six weeks before the election.

BIDEN couldn’t even wait until she could be honored and remembered, like POTUS did. Trump never said anything about a replacement! Joe said. “let me be clear that the voters should pick the President, the President should pick the Justice for the Senate to consider.” Don’t worry Joe, POTUS will do that, after a period of mourning! And the Senate will appoint BEFORE the election! Joe Biden looked completely confused and overwhelmed. He stumbled over his words and looked unsure about what he was saying! It is clear this is not who America needs representing America! TRUMP 2020!

    1. i usually lean democrat but if they were to nominate a justice i think it should be someone thats not too far left or too far right but in the middle . that would be more fair to everyone . but i don’t trust this republican administration thats why i they should wait . Choose a moderate judge someone who will be fair on both sides not someone like justice roberts who gutted the voting rights act to help republicans Win elections and further enact voter suppression tactics.

    2. Retired Obama’s pick of Merrick was stonewalled by Republicans in the Senate and they (specifically Mitch) did that under the banner of he should not be able to push through a candidate for the Supreme Court once the political season is underway, a variant of Biden’s own words.

      Lindsey Graham also said that they would hold off on this pick if it happened in an election year.

      Now Republicans might not only lose the presidential seat but the Senate as well, meaning that the whole landscape may change after November.

      The only way you can sit comfortably on your laurels on this issue would be that you were as passionate about defending Obama’s right to appoint his candidate with 11 months to the election. We are less than 2 from the election now which makes this move even more ridiculous.

      If you didn’t, then I don’t know how you don’t see any hypocrisy in what you’re saying and doing in this thread.

Blue voters have to come out in such numbers that the SC won’t dare interfere with the result. Numbers are now more vital than ever. Every last vote counts.

  5. Mcconnell issued a statement one hour after RBG’s passing that they will begin procedures to replace her. There are no morals in politics. You strike the enemy at the right opportunity. Let that be a lesson to Democrats. If they don’t fight, all is lost.

I’m upset, I’m worried but I’m ready to fight back, thankful for a role model that, until yesterday, I had never had to live without and had been kept safe under her umbrella.     2. @Rosie One I got an idea. Since rushing a SCOTUS pick through as fast as possible looks bad, just from an optics standpoint after a death, if I was the president, I would put it all on them. I would go on TV, and give the left an ultimatum. The house has to pass a new bill requiring nationwide in person voting only for presidential elections, proving you are a citizen and showing ID is mandatory… with the only mail in voting allowed, being absentee ballots, that require ID, witness notarized, sent early, and a legit excuse (sick, elderly, serving overseas, etc). If the house passes this, immediately, within days… then I won’t name a Supreme Court justice til after the election. If the house won’t do this, a successor is named and expedited immediately. I don’t trust the sea of fraudulent ballots, and/or months of chaos and legal battles (which is what they want btw) that are guaranteed to delay the announcement if a new president for God knows how long.

    1. Allan Burns, The position of the Republican Senate was that no President in the final year of his term should put forth a nominee for the Supreme Court. It should wait until after the election and the next President chooses the nominee.

It is his duty to fill that seat while he is President WITH a Republican Senate. It is their job to do what they were elected to do.

  9. “Moral Reckoning”? Our government reflects the American people, albeit this reflection appears greatly distorted (like a funhouse mirror) because of the influence of “Dark Money” and “Special Interest Groups” and other corrupting influences filling “the Trough of Corruption” from which many feel obligated to feed if they are to have the means to get elected in this money-driven government.
    It’s difficult to have a “Moral Reckoning” in an immoral system, and this is why many of us have become cynical. It’s a weakness of our society that we must fix or we will lose more than what we call “Democracy” in this country, and our loss may be total.
