  1. Pierre Elliott Trudeau had retired from politics and Clark had become prime minister by accident. As part of his first PM election platform, Joe announced his intention to raise gas prices. Instantly, Trudeau came out of retirement, announced that he would run, and not raise gas prices. Of course, Trudeau walked right back into the PMO. Clark resigned to teach political science for the stupid at a western University. I have always thought of Clark as Canada’s all time most inept prime minister for a day.
