Anand Giridharadas: ‘Trump Is The Head Of The Snake But Our Whole Culture Needs A Reckoning’ | MSNBC

Anand Giridharadas joins Lawrence O’Donnell to put into perspective how the historic events of the past week are “all the same story of a masquerade of strength” by a president who knows he’s losing the election and how Trump’s illness reflects America’s culture of masculinity: “He has this disease because he’s more afraid of not being seen as a man than dying.” Aired on 10/05/2020.

    1. Margaret Nicol who said I want anyone getting handouts? No one deserves anything handed to them. I believe I’ve made it clear that I believe in YOU reap what YOU sow. If you didn’t earn it then it’s not yours.

    2. Margaret Nicol I will do as I see fit just as you should do given the circumstances. I don’t answer to voters on what criteria I do charity. I answer to God and he will judge me. I have a question for you. Do you think you give more in charity or do you think I give more? Give your honest answer. I only know what I do and I can’t possibly know what you do. But what do you believe?

  1. Trump has always been the world’s greatest poser. He always pretends to be smart, tough, and super wealthy. But If he really wanted to impress us by showing us all how tough he is, he would have refused to go to Walter Reed to receive the best medical treatment in the world.

    1. @bobby bee
Hate what he’s done to our country and it’s people. Don’t waste your soul on a pathetic undeserving. Turn that into helping others vote him out.
      Stay safe, be well. Vote.

    2. 2016, 2017. 750$ in federal tax. If he paid millions let’s see it. It still does absolve him if he is evading taxation which is criminal. Apparently you just take his word. You no like Covid is a hoax, etc.

  2. Nearly all men can stand adversity. If you want to test a man’s character, give him power.
    —Abraham Lincoln

    1. Now you know, those who served and still serves our country are losers, the hero’s that died are suckers. Let someone else put their lives on the line while he steps over the body.

  3. *Yes! It’s impossible to not pay any taxes when you’re supposedly making hundreds of millions of dollars a year! Real tax accountants know this! Obviously, he’s either not making very much money or he’s cheating or most likely both!*

    1. Unfortunately, as with most tyrants, they wear you down, then pounce when they see you at your lowest. We need to stay strong and fight against trump’s bid to be a dictator.

    2. @kathy weis Thanks for the warning! I was about to set him straight but he’s just attention seeking!

  4. perfectly described.

The point on the taxes about he being a business failure is the real truth. He doesn’t pay taxes because he’s a terrible businessman..tariff wars

  5. Trump …* “He) hosted a super spreader event to honor a justice who would have the government control your body but refuse the duty to care for it, and when the virus he helped go around came around, he availed of the healthcare he would deny others, financed by the taxes he refuses to pay.” WELL SAID!!!!!!!

    1. The more I here about tRump the more he seems like the wizard in the wizard of oz, pulling all the levers to manipulate the truth! He’s told lies all his life, he is completely addicted to lying!
      RESIST THE KING OF LIARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    2. @Retro Name afraid of a little blood ? While blacks are still being executed by vigilantes and lynched by LEOs, I believe you will still see some righteous violence. Why follow rules when people in power do not?

    3. @R Stedler MEDIC!!!!! LMFAO, I can’t wait for things to actually kick off so these kids can see what happens when the adults come.

  6. This, from Anand, should be posted in every Biden ad: “He hosted a super-spreader event to honor a justice who would have the government control your body but refuse the duty to care for it, and when the virus he helped go around came around, he availed of the healthcare he would deny others, financed by the taxes he refuses to pay.” Absolutely great insight.

  7. Campaigns of terror

Some narcissists are violent and use violent behavior in order to get the things that want. This form of narcissistic rage crosses all boundaries and puts the lives of their family and friends directly in danger. Though the narcissist may not reveal this side of their personality to everyone, it is one they will not avoid when all other avenues to success have failed. Narcissists can lean into violence, because they have little care about the health, happiness or wellbeing of anyone but themselves.

    1. @ S W Very true. His ignorance and denial of Covid19’s effects on people, that it killed his own brother and Herman Caine after attending his Tulsa rally and he doesn’t care, all blatant signs of his sociopathy. He’s OK with killing people, he said right after his return from Walter Reed he doesn’t have to wear a mask or fear this disease and” that’s Okay!” RUMP couldn’t pass a psychological test to enter the military or Police yet alone to qualify for President.

    2. You are absolutely correct! Thanks for sharing your insight!😊🙏People should never underestimate the mindset of a MALIGNANT NARCISSIST like DONALD TRUMP! These individuals are extremely dangerous, emotionally immature, envious, insecure, extremely selfish, pretentious, hypersensitive to criticism with regard to themselves, but extremely critical and insensitive to the thoughts and feelings of others. Their need to dominate and control is insatiable! Thier need for validation(due to their insecurities) supersedes anything and anyone! A malignant narcissist is simply “Evil Personified”!!

    3. S W It just goes to show how far looks (when he was younger), and some cash, fake attitude and bullying can fool so many people!

    4. S. Gillespie sure does….fake fake fake. Sums up a lot of what’s wrong in this forsaken world we live in. Vapid and superficial

  8. ABSOLUTELY ,THANK YOU FOR THAT TRUE SUMMARY OF HOW TRUMP CONDUCTED HIMSELF IN 10 DAYS !!! SOOO SAD 😢

  9. This is what the massive cuts to education since the 1980s has resulted to. An uneducated population, ready to follow the first bozo who pretends to be tough.

  10. This a horror story and Trump is the monster who wants to eat America one covid-19 infection rally and fund raiser at a time!

  11. Fascinating! Makes sense! I was bullied for being “girly”, “a sissy”, “a p-word” and many other mean things. It turned out they were right I am a girl. But what was unexpected is that living as a woman I feel 100 times stronger and braver than I ever felt trying to pretend to be a man.

    1. “American” used here is way to broad. Most of us have never nor would ever vote or support this psycopath. Pray those not taking part last election have awakened.
      Stay safe, be well. Vote.

  12. Donald is a guy who pretends to be someone he’s not, never has been, and never will be. Look to real leadership with Biden this fall until his sworn in pledge. We don’t need a reality showman in a difficult time, but real leadership.
