1. It’s a stupid assumption that keeping workers connected to their jobs (at great expense) would speed up recovery, as if employers would suddenly lose the contact information of the employees that they have laid off, or laid off employees would suddenly forget who last employed them. It’s also not necessary that companies with full complement of employees would recover quickly, it depends mostly how fast demands for goods and services recover. The economy is in such a bad shape in the first place because of low demands caused by restricted travels and fears of infection, it has to do with demands, NOT jobs placements.
