I see one commenter messaging “hate,” on a video that celebrates the removal of a hate symbol. It suggests the author has an issue with “hate,” is unable to identify that issue and transposes the issue to an easily identifiable concept, simultaneously addressing hate while ignoring one’s obsession with it.
Brushing off their own racism, with a “ya whatever” comment. As if it does not matter how many good people a nation holds, the guys that put up the Robert E Lee statue, insured the entire nation would be “hateful.”

Lee did two things that had a positive impact on the USA. He said that no monuments should be raised to the rebels of the confederacy and lost the civil war.
It was those in power who pursued Jim Crows laws that put these up, as a way to remind the former slaves who was in charge

Lee resided in northern VA, just miles from the dividing line, north/south. He was a West Point graduate and born leader, adulated by his troops. His biggest mistake was: taking the job that Jefferson Davis offered: head of the Confederate Army. If he had made a wiser decision, he would have likely been head of the Northern Army, and the war would have been over, months after it started, and tens of thousands of healthy young men wouldn’t have died.
