@Dave Schultz Well, now, that much is true: I wish Obama had plied a heavier hand when he discovered the Russians were backing Trump, but he claims he didn’t wish to expose the guy because it wouldn’t have seemed “fair.” Whether that’s true or just a politician’s version of “I didn’t want to hand him a whining point, as I thought Clinton would win anyway,” the result was the same: an American President who owes his job (and apparently lots of money) to an adversary nation.

To find the EVIDENCE that substantiates the claim, you can start wit the NY Times article that brought this to the presidents attention and got him “briefed” on the matter. Another article was just published today about the financial transactions between the Russians and the Taliban. Stop asking other people to educate you and learn to educate yourself.

In Trump’s West Point speech, he bragged he would stop the endless, costly foreign wars and bring them home. I certainly hope he didn’t mean bring our soldiers home in body bags. People are just collateral damage to Trump whether it be wars or pandemics. He. Just. Does. Not. Care. Trump is so used to seeing people as collateral damage that it didn’t alarm him that Putin had a bounty on American troops. He probably threw the daily brief in the trash and thought nothing of it. As a narcissist, Trump can’t conceive of how information affects other people.
While it’s true that dying is part of a soldier’s trade, there is still something offensive about an enemy state paying to have people murdered. Trump, who is not in danger himself, nor in fear for anybody he loves (that would be Ivanka) doesn’t see bounties on American servicemembers as a big deal, so he probably didn’t listen very closely when he was briefed. Also, he has standing orders: don’t do anything to get Putin upset.
Trump’s tweets as of July 1 are still calling the bounties a “hoax”. He still does not believe his own intelligence services. He is a menace to the US. Putin must be so happy.
