‘Arthur’ signs off PBS: Cartoon ends after 25 years | USA TODAY

"Arthur," the longest-running animated children's TV series, with almost 200 episodes, left a lasting impact on generations of viewers.

Long before Arthur became a children’s television treasure, he was an aardvark with nose insecurities in a popular book series.

But in 1996, author and illustrator Marc Brown turned "Arthur" into what eventually became the longest-running animated children's TV series. With more than 200 episodes spanning 25 years on PBS, "Arthur" touched the lives of several generations.

  1. Arthur was my favorite show when I was a kid. I’m 26 and once a while I watch it to remember my old childhood memories

  2. I hope it has an honorable send off. I enjoyed it years ago.
    I will say that it was about time to make room for fresher plots in New shows.
