Some people have clear memories back to 3 years old or even younger. Traumatic memories are vastly more likely to be retained into adulthood. Even if Naya’s little one doesn’t remember the actual event, he still has to live without his mommy for the rest of his life. Thankfully, the rest of his family seem close-knit and supportive of each other, so I’m sure they will give Josey the best possible childhood.

She died making sure her son got back safe on the boat. I hope that will shut all the haters up who keep attacking her parental skills. Her son had a life vest on. She took him out for a fun day on a boat…. Have respect for her and her family. Rest in peace Naya. I can’t imagine what her friends and family are going through.

The boat wasn’t anchored and it drifted away. I think she used all her energy making it back and getting her son on it.

My heart. This poor woman in her last moments. This poor baby. I feel very heavy about this whole situation. It’s very very sad. Pray for her baby. To be told that in her last moments she pushed her son back on but did not have enough energy for herself. My son is a few months younger than hers. I can’t comprehend the whole situation for everyone involved. God bless.

As sad as this is and the information he had to discuss, I thought he did a great job communicating all the details.
They need to stop with some companies renting a private vehicles, we have so many families die.
She died a hero. Saving her young child’s life. So sad, but never forgotten.
But the child said that she jumped off into the lake maybe to take a swim or something. It makes little sense that she had energy to get her son up and not herself. It she was that exhausted she wouldn’t have been able to even get her son onto the boat.

She didn’t moor. There was a sudden wind that drifted the boat they were both in the water she struggled to get back along with her son. So she had to fight for two. Depends how many feet she did catching up with the boat. By the time she catched up she was probably exhausted, fatigued.
I’m an islander. When I go paddling I have to put my leash. If I fall and I’m unleashed and you have wind of 10-15 knots (15 miles/h) catching up with the board can be hard it’s a good thing I’m pretty fit. When you’re 2 miles offshore it’s pretty scary cos you’re on your own. Be careful guys when you go out at the lake like this.

I knew her body would be found when I saw her mother at the lake on her knees (my heart ached & I 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽)! Nothing surpasses the ❤ of a mother but God’s love, mercy & grace!!! The ending wasn’t what we wanted, but the unknown is torment! Prayers for all her loved ones❤❤❤

Y’all expecting Foul play or suicide need to drop that notion, and here’s why. It’s unfortunate this happened to her, it’s a tragedy, and she will be greatly missed. The logic of it is, that she was in open water without a life vest on, with an unanchored boat. Her and her son were swimming, and she most likely lost her energy and started to panic. Her mother’s intuition told her to boost her baby on the boat, and get him to safety, and tragically she couldn’t get her own self up on the boat. Even if there was a ladder for the purposes of swimming, if she lost her strength there was really nothing she could do. She died saving her baby boy.
Taylore Red I myself have almost drown in a river, because I thought I didn’t need a life vest. Luckily I was with people who could get me up safely. Unfortunately for her that wasn’t the case, it’s sad and Nobody is blaming her, but she made a decision to not wear a life jacket and to not anchor the boat, and unfortunately for her and everyone who loved her, that costed her life.
Okay, why would you take a child that young out to such a dangerous lake to begin with? Then go swimming in an area that deep with a child, he was a baby still. She doesn’t even wear a life vest yet she puts one on him..I’m sorry as a mother I would never go on such a huge boat alone than jump off and have my children swim with me out that deep..it doesn’t even make sense..I don’t know any mother to do that. Go alone like that and why did she not have a life jacket on?
Angela Netherton I’ve heard that she has been to that lake many times, she was comfortable swimming without a life jacket, she didn’t think she needed one. Her baby was safe in a life jacket, the chances of him being injured while swimming with one on, even in that deep of water is low. Just because you wouldn’t do it, doesn’t mean others don’t.

The questions about what the body looked like was really disturbing. The press doesn’t need to know that information, the coroner does. She was a human being with people who loved and cared for her and are now hurting. The press is sickening.
