  1. I hope for your country (and for my inner peace) that you reform your voting system… it´s not emcartic… it´s false.. one vote should count as one voice… and it should be without any registration… here in Germany we are getting a form via letter, we choose if we want to vote via letter or via going on election day to the office… election day is a sunday… how can it be so hard in your country… I agree democarcy is not only about voting, but this is the basic right and should be used… and than after voting the real work starts… democracy is a lot of work… not always satisfing but nessary… a constant struggel to do step by step better… also here in my country still a long way to go… I feel so mutch with you going through this terrible time… the only good in this is, that things are getting more extrem and for this are coming in the light… more consinsness… the nessary thing for a community to see what has to be done… I believe in your prozess… you will get rit of this unsayable man… I will noz use his name to mutch honor… sorry for my bad english

    1. @Fred Travers yes you need to be citizen… but if you vote by lettre it´s enough that you are registered in your home… very easy… and also safe… maybe this is the problem in the US… I don´t know .. wonder if someone would tell me… do you have to register yourself, when you move to somewhere else… how is that organizsed in the US?

    2. @Gabriela S. Yes you have to register every time you move, change political parties, change your name, or just don’t vote for 4 years. Registering can be done online with our Social Security Number (the closest thing we have to a country wide identification). Registering is easy if you aren’t a convicted felon, which is another problem. The problem for this upcoming election however will be our infrastructure for mail in voting. Ballots are required to be at the polling place BY election day, so if the underfunded postal service can’t get it there on time the vote will not be counted.

    3. @Dayne Reuter :-)) ok, thnx for the explanation… you move you change ;-)… but if the problem is the postal service… that isn´t to change so quickly… why not start earlier… here some weeks in advance…?!?

    4. @Gabriela S. It depends if the state supports early voting by mail. I applied for the absentee ballot for the Minnesota state primary on August 11th and they sent out the ballot on July 31st which is enough time. Other states may not have the infrastructure to do that though so I don’t know about everywhere.

    5. @Dayne Reuter sounds good… I can´t have a opinion on this, for that I do not have enough information… but I would try to write or talk to my county president (don´t know the right word)… is ist Senator… and… also… if the infrastructure is so weak… there are lots of working places for people… this owes less money than a fight between groups… sorry bad enlish, but good heart and brain 😉

  2. Martin Luther King was only 39 years old when he died. I wish he had lived as long as John Lewis. May God forever keep them both.

    1. Obama ginning up racism again. The Senate filibuster is now Jim Crow… funny Obama joined the filibuster against Justice Alito. What a fraud.

    2. And on Nov 3, hopefully we’ll finish this Trump business & begin the work of picking up where Lewis left off.

    1. Hey, can you racists (not you, Ronan) post your hate speech as your own comment, not as a reply to mine? Thanks!

  3. When American nation rises to the occassion the world’s written history is so inspiring to read.

  4. Watch this eulogy and then watch the full trump interview with axios. Listen to what trump says about John Lewis. We’ve fallen as a nation and it’s time to get it back. VOTE

  5. If you wonder the reason for the omnipresent duality plaguing this country today, look no further than this man. For the record, George Wallace was a Democrat.
