  1. The same folks who want to worship monarchy are some of the same folks shouting about equality and democracy .

    1. Oh, but it’s ok to give billions and billions of dollars to other countries without helping out our own citizens.

  2. I don’t agree with the BLOC on much, but he is right. Canada 🇨🇦 should move to become a Republic and shake off the shackles of Imperialism. It’s time!

    1. @Colleen Jones We’ve been our own nation for over a hundred years and don’t need any monarchy to help mess up our self determination with useless positions such as a Governor General and an unelected senate. I’m sick of anything that relates to the useless king of England and their supposed commonwealth empire! It’s time to cut the cord!

    1. @Randy F I’m not on any facebook hate groups, what crime? Vacation. It sounds like PP is concerned about the vacation crime this week.

  3. We also should not spend 4 billion dollars to support French language when it’s only important to Quebec, the most racist province in Canada !

  4. Arguably it would be more dangerous to disconnect from the British Crown entirely; are we so sure that Canada is incorruptible that it would be fit to cleave itself from the British Monarchy? There might be areas where relations could stand to be improved but a total separation would probably make the country weaker, not stronger.

  5. “The modern Commonwealth is a values-based association of 56 countries, most with historic links to the Unitied Kingdom and home to over 2.4 billion citizens over five continents.”

  6. As much as I dislike the Bloc party they aren’t wrong on this issue. Pro monarchists can never give a actual reason to keep the monarch except “tradition”. All the monarch does is waste Canadian tax dollars.

    1. @Hirsch Every time a member of the royal family comes to Canada, Canadians pay for the visit. Also try and stay on topic here chief which is the monarchy not bilingualism.

    2. Do you know much a presidential election would cost? Also, how much it would cost, to hold inevitable referendums in each province to change the constitution?

  7. I thought Canada is a free country? We are a part of the commonwealth, we are here to respect King Charles and that’s it.

  8. It’s part of our history just as much as France is to Quebec’s society. He’s just salty the french lost. If we do away with the monarchy, then the ”distinct society” goes too. Fair is fair.
