Arguably it would be more dangerous to disconnect from the British Crown entirely; are we so sure that Canada is incorruptible that it would be fit to cleave itself from the British Monarchy? There might be areas where relations could stand to be improved but a total separation would probably make the country weaker, not stronger.

As much as I dislike the Bloc party they aren’t wrong on this issue. Pro monarchists can never give a actual reason to keep the monarch except “tradition”. All the monarch does is waste Canadian tax dollars.
