Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) joins Ali Velshi to discuss Amazon warehouse workers' failed effort to unionize in Bessemer, Alabama. He says, “companies have so much power to threaten and intimidate, to put people in closed rooms and tell them over and over again how terrible unions are. We have to change that.”

  1. Corporations have infiltrated all levels of employees to monitor any attempt in organizing unions.

    1. I wouldn’t say infiltrated, you can’t invade your own company. There are simply “company men” ready to be the next a$$hole in charge at every level

    2. @John Brown infiltrate means to ”
enter or gain access to (an organization, place, etc.) surreptitiously and gradually, especially in order to acquire secret information.”

    3. People have to stop being afraid. They need submissiveness, because they know an uprising would cripple them.

    4. @Fred A. Being afraid is EXACTLY how they want people to be. Being afraid makes a person feel powerless and powerless people have no say (because, of course, they have no power)

  2. In the 4:30 minutes it took to watch this video, Bezos made $672,089, which is what 19 Amazon warehouse workers will make in a year.

    1. @Joel Zink Good. You are the first who saw this. I have had this comment posted two three times before, but with the addition that compared to a Congolese worker, every American is very rich. The average John Doe from my calculation example earns as much as 115 Congolese in the course of their life! This time I tried without this addition I wanted to see if anyone noticed this obvious bigotry. You did! Did the right thing!🏆

    2. Made, paid, or accrued wealth in the form of stock appreciation in the company he founded? Be honest.
Or in the words of Google,
      don’t be evil.

    3. @Seven of Nine a Congolese citizen should be trying to become the Congolese bezos and spread entrepreneurship.
Also in the Congo, there’s less regulations involved

  3. Unions protect their workers and usually have decent benefits, Unions keep the workers from working for peanuts 🥜

    1. Or from being wrongfully fired. People have no issue with police unions, but nothing for the rest of us.

    2. @Fred A Plenty of people have problems with police unions (and every other government employee union).

  4. Doesn’t Bezos realize that he has enough money to take care of his entire family and the families of all of his descendants and that he can now reward the people who made him all of the money that makes it all possible? Does he have a heart, at all? Does he need more? Is he capable of doing the right thing? Will he ever get the message?

    1. I dont have Bezos money but i could think of ways to spend it and still want more. I am looking at retiming with around 15 million with all my saving yet I still don’t see it as being close to enough for what I want.

    2. @Tidus955 Do you believe that the laws should be such that people like Bezos and Amazon don’t pay taxes on all of their profits or as easy to manipulate the system?

    3. @Black Swan Income taxes should be 0. All taxes should be consumption taxes. You use it, you pay for it. I pay property taxes on my house which goes towards police and fire to protect it. Apply that for every government program there is.

    4. @Tidus955 When you negate your statement, it makes more sense. Taxes should not be 0. See how that works. The negation of what you said is true. You live in opposite land.

  5. I’ve been a Prime member since 2007. I never asked Amazon to provide one day delivery, but they insist it’s important. Amazon has literally put everyone out of business and now they are attempting to make me believe it’s a place of competition. Hogwash, Amazon needs competition, antitrust and a union.

    1. @Shane Kasper , so that means we should boycott every company and start living like Caveman because all of them are rich. People need to get off their lazy A$$ and do something for themselves and stop bad-minding successful people.

    2. @T. R. Campbell a next 🤡 when you buy from Amazon, most of the time you’re buying from a small business.

    3. @I Create My Own Reality. that is a 100% correct statement, and I am for everybody doing all they can and being released for their work. My point was that all the SJW’S gripe about people like Amazon while ordering from them. If they felt that strongly they would not take part in it. It is like the co-founder of BLM talking about al the “lack of equality” and buying a 1.4 million dollar home in a predominantly white neghborhood. Doesn’t seem like she is “down with the struggle”.

    4. @Shane Kasper Some of us do vote with our dollars. I’ve never used Amazon and rarely buy from chains. Your local availability has a lot to do with it. I’ve found paying a little more for quality is often cheaper in the long run. Unfortunately I’m a freak and in the minority. Buying from small businesses recirculates the money in the community instead of sending it off to corporate headquarters.

  6. The riders brand, it is a gang sign I spose, most bad folks now it by now, common sense, through picket fence, buck tooth for tooth.

  7. In the military, when someone is unwillingly submissive, it’s called “fear of reprisal”. Things will not improve, unless people take a stand.

  8. I no longer do business with Amazon nor have I done business with them for several years. While I do buy some hard to obtain items through online purchase we like to do business with our local merchants. I like to go to the store I like to look at the merchandise, feel the quality, pay for it and take it home immediately without having to wait for delivery.
If we object to Amazon and their tactics, don’t do business with them. Buy from someone else or go to your local store and support your local merchant.

    1. Price and quality get my meager dollars, and that’s Amazon. I’m not paying 15 to 25% more because I feel bad for my local brick-and-mortar business.

  9. The Bessemer Amazon Union vote results should be officially investigated. If there was wrongdoing (surely there was, ie, voter intimidation/suppression) let the chips fall where they may.

    1. @Gabe Jones
Bezos’ a Plutocrat, perhaps that’s what you meant…I’m helping you out here. 🤓

Democrat and Democrap are waaay different things.

  10. Nice video!! Very engaging from beginning to end. Nevertheless, businesses and investment are the easiest way to make money irrespective of which party makes it to the oval office.

    1. @David Tester Expert james Matheson has been managing my trade for months and I keep making profits every week , made $9,130 last week

    2. @David Tester I’m from the UK 🇬🇧 I and my colleagues gave him a try and it has been good returns of our investment, Thanks Mr james Matheson🇱🇷

  11. I suddenly realized that I have been spending an inordinate time worrying about how the US is disintegrating before our very eyes. Why do I bother?
Perhaps because I live in one of the Nordic countries, where the balance between greed and social conscience is balanced to the point that the general population is not losing sleep because the greedy and corrupt crooks cannot have their way. We might not be perfect, but we can still put ‘Murica to shame in every other way.

    1. My first investment with Expart David moore earned me profit of over $25,530 US dollars, ever since then he has been delivering
