If the government has a system in place that allows citizens to redress actions done by the government, elect their leaders, are governed by rule of law, with the laws created by elected representatives of the people, that is considered a democracy. When he came in office, US relationship with IRAN had normalized, IRAQ/IRAN region was stabilized, US troops were gradually being withrawn from IRAQ and everyones goal was to root out ISIS from the region. Despite the protests of US allies, Trump decided to withdraw the US from the Iran nuclear deal in May 2018 even though Iran was in compliance with the terms of the agreement. When Iran refused to negotiate a “better deal” with the US, Trump added economic sanctions on IRAN. After the sanctions were imposed, IRAN created incidents to draw attention. Trump has been responsible for Iran foreign policy and strategy for the last four years, not President Obama. Trump is responsible for making the decisions necessary to keep US soldiers and citizens safe.
