@mark Evans Yes, the ‘cages’ (separations made of chain- link fencing because it was an economical choice) were put in place around 2014 to help cope with an unprecedented influx of migrants that had overwhelmed existing structures, but without needlessly separating children and parents.
The Trump administration chose to apply a ‘zero tolerance’ policy, ripping families apart, until it was obliged to stop after only 6 weeks due to public outcry.
Truth and facts matter. Please feel free to correct any of the above, but only if it’s true anfd verifiable.
