An all electric car is fantastic, but you need someplace to recharge it. I’m glad he is going to build charging stations across the country, as California has already done. I hope that he will also consider requiring charging stations at all new parking lots, apartment and office buildings.
Deborah Freedman: There are many Love’s Travel Centers across the country that have battery charging stations for Tesla vehicles, so i’m pretty sure that more charging stations will be developed for other EV’s.
@Progressive Humanist Right! In fact, Generac has created the PWR CELL generator system where you store power from solar panels or the electrical grid.
Now you just need a grid that can handle charging millions of electric cars.
@Progressive Humanist Solar power is intermittent meaning you still need to have fossil fuels backing up your grid for when the sun isn’t shining. You also need to mine all those rare earth minerals for those lithium batteries, you might want to ask all those child laborers currently being exploited to mine the cobalt for them how they feel about that.

The average driver drove 32.7 miles per day in 2001. In 2007. That was down to 25.9 miles per day.
The chevy bolt has 259 mi of range. Unless you frequently travel to rural areas or live in a condo/apartment without access to charging – range anxiety isn’t much of an issue.
