When Tennessee Republicans voted this month to expel two Black Democratic lawmakers who protested for gun control on the House floor, they thought they were sticking it to rabble-rousers in the statehouse.

But the decision, led by Tennessee's Republican House speaker, Cameron Sexton, turned Reps. Justin Jones, D-Nashville, Justin Pearson, D-Memphis, and Gloria Johnson, D-Knoxville, into national heroes of the left.

    1. The Second Amendment is quite clear:

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

If you are not part of a regulated militia e.g. the armed forces, police etc, you have no constitutional ‘right’ to bear arms.

This doesn’t mean you can’t own or keep a gun or sword for that matter, just that you don’t have a constitutional ‘right’ to do so.

The intent of this amendment is open to debate but was likely similar to the Swiss model, where most citizens are part of the national militia and keep their weapons at home.

Rights beyond this context are clearly ‘judge made’ not ‘constitutional’ rights. Such rights are not locked in constitutionally but come and go at the whim of the judges.

  1. All this looks really strange to me.. 🤔
Looks like they deviced a whole plan to make this little momment a thing..

Just waiting for the next scene. Looking forward to what plot and twist these writers have for us, the people.

  2. The primary function of the 2nd amendment is to ensure that Americans always have access to weapons suitable for modern combat.
