President Joe Biden will name U.S. Circuit Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, replacing retiring Associate Justice Stephen Breyer with a jurist who would become the first Black woman to serve on the nation’s highest court in its 233-year history, the White House said Friday.

"Since Justice Stephen Breyer announced his retirement, President Biden has conducted a rigorous process to identify his replacement," the White House said in a statement. "Today, President Biden will introduce Judge Jackson, an exceptionally qualified and historic nominee. Judge Jackson will also deliver remarks."

Jackson, a 51-year-old federal appeals court judge in Washington, D.C., has long been considered a frontrunner for the president’s first Supreme Court nomination. Because she was recently confirmed by the Senate with bipartisan support, her selection is a signal the White House is aiming for a drama-free confirmation – or, at the very least, a less messy fight than has been the case for recent nominees.

  1. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. -MLK

  2. If we could just get past how one looks and dig deep inside for what qualifications they have for. Unless looks are the only thing they have. 🤔

    1. I don’t care about her color I do care about her corruption asking permission from the republicans No corruption to see here Every time you see this bipartisan b******* it’s nothing But a bowl of Hypocrisy Remember every Republican voted against Joe Biden’s bill back better
