Chadwick Boseman, the man who brought "Black Panther" to life, has died.
The actor has been battling colon cancer since 2016 and died at home with his family and wife by his side, according to a statement posted on his Twitter account.
He was 43, his publicist Nicki Fioravante said in a statement.
"A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you so many of the films you have come to love so much," the statement said.
"From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy."
The statement said the role of King T'Challa was the "honor of (Boseman's) career."

He’s was a humble king, he never even told anyone about his condition when he was shooting those films. A true legend that will be missed.

Not all legends have to be like Luther King. Some find Boseman as a legend in their point of view. Calling the people who are saying that Boseman was a legend, pathetic just because you don’t think that he was a legend, is kind of ignorant.

The fact is he knew he was gonna die. He died in his home and not the hospital. This just makes me so sad that he’s been doing surgery’s and checkups for the past 4 years and still hasn’t recovered. Fly high, Wakanda forever ✊🏿

For me it didn’t hit really. It’s definitely really hitting me now just appreciating his character being able to connect it to a hero. Didn’t like all the identity politics surrounding this movie but I appreciate it heavily for Chadwick now.
