    1. @Blockmyfreedomofspeach I’llbeback
Read Michael Beschloss on the subject. You’ll get all you need from him. Reagan was the old, “Trickle-Down,” economics, the War On Drugs, and a Cold Warrior who presided over the last years of Soviet Imperialism. He’s a Hero in the Republican Mythos, in a similar way that FDR is to the Dems. He was wrong about his economic model, as we now know, but they didn’t know that at the time. He was bold and charismatic, which was why he was all but scandal proof, as the Iran-Contra Arms scandal demonstrated. A shocking revelation, in its day, that would have sunk a less charming president, who took his case to the people and convinced them (JUST enough) that he wasn’t aware of what was going on . . . or that he’d learned his lessons . . . or, well shucks, it’ll all be OK in the end and those people are, “over there,” anyway . . .
His support of the Mujahedin against Soviet Russia paid dividends, but then left us with the same people, using all the high tech weaponry he’d supplied them with, to splinter off into various groups, including Al Qaida; but people are wrong to, “blame,” him for that, and when they do, they always overlook the fact that we won that conflict; or, at least, “achieved our goals,” which were to weaken the Soviet War Machine, and drive them out of Afghanistan. That model of what we now call, “asymmetric warfare,” including the drug smuggling to fund weapons for the South American Contras, were both the brainchild of his top man in the CIA at the time. You may have heard of him? George Bush Senior.
Reagan was old school anti-communist, considered far right for his day, but practically a liberal by Trumpian standards, who as governor of California, was a tacit supporter of Joe McCarthy, until his reputation crashed and burned. Ultimately, he was an activist POTUS, willing to take risks and not sit on his hands. He worked hard to bring peace to the Middle East, despite multiple set backs and dragging a reluctant party behind him, but he did stabilise oil prices and the economy overall, despite never doing anything to close the widening gap between rich and poor. Like all presidents, he’s a mixed bag of successes and failures. His Star Wars space satellite program being his biggest failure (never given credit for the boldness of his vision, or the fact that it could have neutralised all nuclear threats around the world) costing America billions and getting us nothing. But, his successes include being seen as the figure who did the most in the west to end the Cold War.
Ultimately, his final year in office is marred by personal tragedy. The onset of Alzheimer’s disease was becoming evident, even in occasional interviews. His people, including his wife, Nancy, worked hard to keep it quiet, but naturally (this being the Cold War and all) it scared some people too, and the press kept on digging. But, this will impress you: a deal was struck with the press, to keep things quiet for the sake of National Security and world stability, as he was approaching the end of his final term anyway. Such a deal would not be possible today, and it was only officially acknowledge 20 years later, after all the parties concerned were no longer with us.
He was a nice guy; a decent man and a good friend. He was also a bit of a ham, and a dangerous enemy; something his folksy charm hid rather well. But, I guess his illness gave the machine of Washington a good practice run, for the time that would come, when they had to keep the lights on, despite having a president in office who was unfit at every level, as they did with trump? So there’s that? . . .

    2. @Ash Roskell REALLY???? THE DO NOTHING POLITICIANS. ???? KEEP THE LIGHT ON???? REALLY???? . TRUMP ACHIEVED MORE IN 4 YEARS THAT ANY PRESIDENT IN HISTORY .

    3. @Blockmyfreedomofspeach I’llbeback well for starters Regan was able to work with dems and also flipped some dems to the republicans. Unlike trump who lost Republican support and tried to have republicans see the dems as the enemy number 1 of our country. Regan tried to stand up to russia and trump allowed Russia to place bounties on our soldiers with our doing something to hurt Russia.

    4. @Ash Roskell I appreciate everything you just wrote I hope it didn’t take too much of your time but I really do appreciate it have a good day sir have a good life

    5. Yeah….him and Pelosi are poster children for why we need TERM LIMITS….no more than 12 years MAXIMUM.

  1. Trump can’t fire a psychotic tweet at Boehner, as much as he wants to. All he can do is throw his Big Mac at the TV.

    1. @My Tale I’ve always been amazed at some of my old friends who wore long hair and were against being sent to Vietnam fifty years ago who today brag about being Reagan Republicans like that is something to be proud of. Most get really uncomfortable when you ask them about what they were doing when Reagan’s recession hit, or, did they think the Iran-Contra crimes were impeachable.

    2. Deport jeffrey epstein, gheslane maxwell, jonathan pollard and Joel greenberg back to israel too. We don’t want the israeli mossad blackmailing US politicians with little kids anymore 💯🙏🇮🇱

    3. Excuse me Sir/Madam
      Are you saved?
If you died tonight are you going to heaven?
      Jesus loves you

  2. Bottom Line: Jan 6 happened because of DJT
Conversely, if NOT for DJT, Jan 6 would not have happened

    1. @N 827 Losers attacked the capital trying to cancel democracy to cling on to power by minority rule.

    2. Plot twist: a whopping 65% of white klan (GOP) literally said they ” believe” the 1/6 Attack was done by Antifah… white racism is one HELLAVA DRUG!! 🤦🏽‍♂️🤡😂😂😂

  3. The guy who the maga cult hold up as their savior is also the loser who lost them the House, Senate, and White House all in only 4 years. 😅😂🤣

    1. Wanting to keep their seats and power was a stronger yearning than wanting to keep the US Government. The GOP base was almost immediately told the US Capitol siege was not the MAGA crowd we all saw on TV but ANTIA by the biggest liar to ever sit in the Oval Office, Trump. Several of Trump’s enablers and all the far-right outlets took up the false claim and now a majority of Trump’s GOP believe it was so. Taking a stand for the facts seems to be more than guys like Mitch, Lindsey, or Kevin are capable of. Our country was a only an all too close to becoming a fascist state with Trump in charge and these idiots want to “move on” from the crime and only punish the poor bubble heads who were gullible enough to believe Trump’s lies.

  4. Boehner wasn’t exactly a straight shooter, or even a particularly decent human being, but he at least kept his cynicism and corruption out of the spotlight like a politician ought to. XD

  5. Even though I’m happy to see Boehners comments, it’s still too little, too late. He should have been on Fox every day saying this – at least after the 6th.

    1. If he went on once, and said what he’s saying now, they’d never have let him back a second time.

    2. oscarowski
he wanted to make sure Trump did not get the courts to vote in his favor. That is how cowards are. They won’t say anything to please the opposition
until after they know they are safe. To be perfectly honest he really isn’t late. His opinion has no worth to it no matter when he came out LOL

    3. Alex – I perfectly agree. I was trying to put it in perspective to what he should have done. He’s as much a coward as McConnell and McCarthy are, having even said he was to blame to then “retract” and re-imagine reality.

    1. @Cliff Medina “Deviding”??… Oh boy, that pretty much sums up the intelligence of the Republican party. 🤦‍♂️🤡

    2. funny how Americans vote for people like gaetz and Trump, yet still insist that they’re very fine people. 🤢🤮

    3. @Weston W Yeah, on the flip side people vote for AOC, Omar, Pelosi , Schumer, Schiff, and numerous other Democrat’s thinking the same thing. It is definitely a call for mental health programs LOL

  6. Boehner — lol. He always reminded me of the “smoking man” on the X-Files. I remember when it looked like he fake tanned and Obama called him “the other man of color.” — The good old days.

    1. LMFAO!!! That comment deserves 12k likes!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
