Buttigieg: ‘There’s No Time To Lose’ In Implementing Transportation Strategies | The Last Word

  1. I noticed how he deftly circumvented any dispute with Cruz, did not take the bait and just focused on working to produce more union jobs. 👍

    1. @AmpedUpTech The man was fired because of an fbi investigation into his conduct and subsequently received just a demotion. Just because the investigation did not reach a conclusion doesn’t mean it was never an issue. And no, Boykin wasn’t the only black police officer. He was the first black police chief but not the only officer. In fact when the incident took place, there were 29 black officers on the force of South Bend. Regardless, doesn’t mean there weren’t substantial issues related to race under the mayorship of Buttigieg. But using misinformation is no way to make a point.

    2. @Em Andem Read my first comment once again. I said only black officer who had a position of power so my statement is correct. I wasnt talking about how many black officers were there in south bend.

The officer who was fired was quite liked by the community and was fired by Buttigieg allegedly. Even after multiple requests from Black community, the tapes in which White officers were being Racist were not released. Both of the Black officers have been silenced by settlement.

You are trying to paint Buttigieg as a saint but he is far from it.

    3. @AmpedUpTech I would suggest the opposite. Rather that you are trying to paint him as a racist when Pete has consistently put minority groups, including blacks and persons of color, at the forefront of his policy proposals. He meets with black leaders, has educated himself on black issues and is vocal about including racial justice issues in all his policies. It’s worth noting that including racial equality as a major topic of conversation in the Transportation department is not something that needed to be done and has been ignored by many past administrations. Of course, we’ll have to see how those speeches and promises shake out in actual policy but at the moment, I’m certainly included to assume he’s being genuine, rather than think that he’s just really really bad at being a racist.

    4. @Cody Turner When a person can lie that he won Iowa caucus even before the results were out and had the spouse of the Owner of the software that was created to calculate the delegates in Iowa working for his campaign and coin flip was used to award delegates to Pete, yes i am painting him as a bad person because thats who he is. A Grifter, a Cheater and a Rat. 🐁

Oh i forgot to mention, he had paid for the app as well.

Do you want me to share a video about his smugness?

    1. Peter drove officers around while in the National Guard. Peter devastated thousands of poor family homes in Indiana to pay back a campaign contributor contractor to his Mayoral campaign for the job of demolishing those poor families’ homes. Things are changing for the best. YOU THINK?

    1. @donald altman one thing he is known for it doing his research that alone is a plus he also takes the time to gather information not just from top gov but from local and applies that to decision making

    1. Do you know something I don’t. Tell me. Does Peter have an Engineering degree? Or maybe Peter has a degree in logistics management. YOU THINK? Is that why you feel he is a great choice for Cabinet Administrator of Transportation?

    2. @Stitch in Time he’s a Rhodes Scholar, is a veteran, and he’s been the popular, well liked Mayor of a reasonably large town for something like 7 years AND he’s not even 40 yet. Pete IS a great choice for any position in Biden’s administration. He will do his new job proud, you watch.

    3. @It’s not me, It’s you

Absolutely! I’m looking forward to seeing him in whatever he puts his mind to for years to come..

    4. @Stitch in Time His role as Secretary is to appoint and take advice from such technical experts, and have the intellect to make the best judgement on where to spend the budget, taking all relevant disciplines into account.
But you know that really, don’t you.

  2. I wish members of Congress were as forward thinking and proactive as President Biden’s cabinet. 🇺🇸👏

    1. The GOP has different goals. It’s the destruction and dismantling of the government. This is not the GOP of even Nixon’s era.

    2. @HKim0072 “We have a republic – if we can keep it.” ~Benjamin Franklin. (1787)
“The American Carnage stops right here, and right now.” ~Donald J Trump. (2017)
      Trumps legacy –
      1. Racial strife.
      2. Pandemic disaster.
      3. An economy that has never been more unequal.
      4. Sedition.
      5. America’s worst president ever!

  3. Start with Amtrak, bridges and highways. Been hearing infrastructure improvement talk for 20 years. Still not much change

  4. I live in Sydney, Australia, I have to wear a mask in indoor public places and public transport or face a $200 fine. No drama.
