  1. I hope the truckers fight this. This will cause a complete break down of the supply chain. The federal government knows this and wants this.

    1. its already happening in Australia who did the same thing a couple of months ago, and now they are having food shortages

    2. There is a cross-country convoy leaving Vancouver on the 23rd. Pat King is organizing it. You can join in with any vehicle, give them sandwiches, give a trucker a place to have a shower, or just cheer them on. The last one was 12km long, so this one will be HUGE. Be sure to spread the word (:

  2. Why now?
Why do this after 2 years leaving them alone?
Truckers live in the rigs most of the time.
    This is really, really dumb.

  3. I guess it’s wrong to expect to receive proper notification from the government just like they’ve done with the restaurants, small businesses, parents, kids, educators etc. etc. etc.

    1. You’re confusing federal/provincial government responsibility. Not that the feds haven’t been consistent in screwing this covid thing up.

    2. @m 705 You’re right…My Friday night brain. I will rephrase to notifying cbsa agents about Covid protocol, airport Covid checks, hotel quarantines, releasing the wrong information about mandatory vaccinations in the trucking industry etc. etc. etc.

    1. Everything the feds have jurisdiction over will get this treatment. They’re ideologically driven. It doesn’t have to be logical.

  4. The government doesn’t care about truckers, but when Canadians realize the supply chain is getting destroyed it will be another conversation. To think once they were treated like heroes now they’re just another number, courtesy of our leaders.

    1. @Ian Davis its not the actual thought of some gov “caring about its citizens” its the rats that infiltrated and hold strings, big rats ..with money

  5. From Heroes to zeros I wish the truckers boycott Canada we might pay a little bit but fight fight for your rights

  6. If the truck drivers have to go through all of that, we will see shortages of food in the groceries stores, something will have to work out to solve this problem.

  7. The truckers need to block the border in protest. They will change their minds just like they did with the nurses. They were heroes when they were willing to “risk their lives” to work through the pandemic… This is how they repay them!?!?😡

  8. I hope the truckers fight this. This will cause a complete break down of the supply chain. The federal government knows this and wants this.

  9. The sad thing is that the Government will change requirements and rules about 5 more times before these temporary exemptions expire.

  10. Supply line delays are growing as more and more truckers leave the profession. And why stay when the government is doing everything in its power to make life miserable for truckers? And then there is the looming threat posed by driverless trucks. Within a decade, almost all truck drivers will be forced out of work anyway so why postpone the inevitable.
