@No Name I didn’t hear this on the news. I’ve had both the chicken pox and shingles. Once upon a time, humans believed that once you had the pox, you were immune. Turns out that is not the case, you _can_ get it more than once, and since it doesn’t ‘leave’ you, can get shingles from it as well. COVID-19 is new. We have no idea what the end results from getting it will be. None whatsoever.

The title is one thousand % correct I’ve been there I’ve been in a chair since I was 4 months old now in 40 please for people like me were your masks if you out an about.

Here is what the data says is “the right “thing” If you are young and healthy GET covid 19, become immune. Then you don’t need a mask and you don’t need to social distance. If you are young and healthy you have and almost non existent chance of dying from covid and a small chance you will actually get sick

It goes much deeper. To the religious right, not wearing a mask is some kind of proof of faith that Jesus will keep them safe.
To the insurance companies, the spread of Covid is a bonanza.
To the Koch brothers and fellow billionaire libertarians, the death of seniors goes a long way towards their goal of cutting Social Security.
To racists and the KKK the disproportionate deaths of people of color is a plus.
And don’t forget that shocks like this enable the worst of criminals to make out like bandits. While the average citizen got $1200, over $3 trillion was transferred to banks and corporations. Naomi Klein calls this “The Shock Doctrine” and the result has been phenomenal sums of wealth transferred to the top 1% over the course of recent decades. Lately, it’s been a bonanza for them.
