  1. It’s a simple concept. It’s saying “I care about you as much as I care about myself.” Caring for your neighbor’s well-being is the American way!

    1. the power hungry control freaks on the far left just want to see how much crap they can force people to wear on their heads

    2. I agree…as we learn more about this, this CDC change from mask don’t help to mask do help is a good move. Thanks CDC.

    3. @frictionRx9 – I live in a small RED town here in Texas. Lots of Trump supporters everywhere with their flags on their trucks and yards. Everywhere I go, mask are worn. From Wal-Mart’s to HEB to the gas stations. Either its small town Texas courtesy or not every Trump supporter is as dense as you.

    1. @Tommy Westbrook Where will you hide when the election is certified for Biden? We’re all very sorry your having a hard time accepting the election outcome. Perhaps antipsychotic meds would help.

    2. @Mike MUC Actually, you can see that sort of ignoring of facts on both sides. But, the right does own believing science over religion.

    3. @J Wise Please drop the all caps, and learn to spell. The word you are trying for is loser. Looser means less tight.

    1. On January 28th Trump knew how serious the virus was and lied to the American people… Trump would rather see all of US dead rather than FRIGHTEN US… What a effed-up excuse….

    2. @David Hale They don’t even realize the mask mandate was done to conserve masks for healthcare from Jan through Aug. Otherwise you would have hospitals competing with consumers to get masks.

    3. @HOME TEAM Not all information, but we did know it was similar to SARS, which was controlled by wearing of masks. Notice how many east Asian countries, like Taiwan, never had bad outbreaks, even though they were very near China. That’s because the already went through SARS, and almost instantly required masks to be worn in public.

    4. @David Hale Because most people have never taken classes in epidemiology, public health or virology, and didn’t know what to do. I have, and have been wearing a mask in public since February. If we had adequate federal leadership, masks would have been required since March, like in many countries. Instead, we got false assurances from DC.

  2. Taiwan hasn’t had a new case in over 200 days. Mandatory masking, contract tracing and isolation works without a lockdown.

    1. @Tahmid alpha12 agreed. While on my street no one is ever out so I don’t wear one when walking on the side walk but I will go to the other side if someone is on my side of the road.
This virus let’s me keep away from people which I like

    2. Had the proper safeguards been put in place and the people been told honestly about the risks we’d be truly rounding a corner….but as it is we’ve been rounding the corner so long it’s like a NASCAR race…in circles

    3. @James Miller yeah personal freedom in the expense of morality, the arrogance in the form of personal freedom, otherwise I could go and spit on someone shoes, it my personal freedom right, also don’t tell me to wear seat belt and don’t tell me to follow speed laws, I don’t care if your car gets bashed because if me being recklessness causes your car damage I don’t want to be fined as it’s my PERSONAL FREEDOM! I hope Biden imposes mandatory mask so that these ARROGANT can be forced to comply and the mandate hopefully will also help curb the virus down just like how other countries including mine did it

    1. I am hoping the pharmaceutical companies have enough integrity to only release safe vaccines, but I will wait a couple months before getting one to see how others do.

    2. @Rebecca Jones you can already get a sense of how “others” are doing because pfizer has tested the vaccine on 43000 volunteers to date, and are now studying the longer-term effects before they release it a few months later. so there will be additional research and safety assessment.

    3. then you better tune in to how ppl in other countries are doing once they get the vaccine because god knows the stupid half of america will reject it and there will be no herd immunity.

    1. @Adelynn Tan Exactly. It’s very selfish of people to not wear masks because they are likely spreading it and putting others in pain.

    1. @C. L-M No, in fact according to Yale, ALL of covid in the US was due to people who had it fleeing NY. In the NY Times article “Travel From New York City Seeded Wave of U.S. Outbreaks” Yale said the following: “We now have enough data to feel pretty confident that New York was the primary gateway for the rest of the country,” said Nathan Grubaugh, an epidemiologist at the Yale School of Public Health.
Elmhurst was ground zero. People got exposed, carried it, fled NY and spread it all over the country.

    2. Yes, I not in the USA and honestly thought the date on this must be wrong. It is also incredible that so many Americans think they know better than experts. It’s idiotic.

  3. If you want to wear a mask, wear a mask. Stay at home forever. I don’t care. But don’t force me to do it. Is there a special pandemic section in the Constitution I’m unaware of?

  4. Old news everyone around the world already knows that(some countries knew years ago).
I feel sorry for your country if you only found out now. The suppression of such common sense leads to a poor country no matter how powerful.

  5. Masks do NOT protect against viruses!!! 100 nanometers in diameter!!!! FAR TOO SMALL FOR CLOTH AND SURGICAL MASKS TO FILTER!! YOU’VE ALL BEEN LIED TO

  6. I am surprised this is news, I have been wearing a mask to protect myself first and others secondary. This is like teaching grade 2 kids. What does it say about your country. reminds me of the good old days of witch burning

    1. Only people I know refusing to wear masks are these “people” the news media seems to find somehow. I am conservative and everyone I know is wearing masks because we all believe this was made in a lab in China.

    2. @CrossCynical You’re lucky, I’ve run into selfish creeps in supermarkets, who won’t wear a mask properly. Once, I had to abandon my shopping cart in line, because the woman behind me was maskless and coughing, and kept crowding me.

    1. @Ennis Wyse America, where children have to endure the trauma of active school shooter drills, yet wearing a mask to Costco is just too oppressive. 🤷🏻‍♀️

    2. @You’re Beautiful ~ Exactly! The sooner Americans all get on board and follow CDC guidelines, the sooner we could all get back to normal, instead of costing our economy TRILLIONS of dollars, killing hundred of thousands of Americans senselessly, keeping children our of school, and overstressing our health-care system and front-line essential workers. Ignorant Republic cult is taking a wrecking-ball to America, only benefiting our enemies. Unbelievable. Never thought in all my years to see America sink so low. It’s appalling, shocking, disgusting, and depressing.
