  1. A poster on another news site who sounds as if she is a local citizen and knowledgeable of the neighborhood reports that developers wanted the empty building condemned so that they could develop the property but the city wasn’t going for it. She is sure that the owners hired someone to burn it down. Whether they anticipated burning the church down or not is another question. That the fire trucks arrived 3 minutes after the call came in and the buildings were already engulfed in flames sounds like a propellent was used.

    1. Exactly, historic buildings are protected from demolition by profiteering landowners unless it’s destroyed by a fire, that’s why there’s a long history of arson paid for by landlords and real-estate developers to clear out rent controlled apts and historic buildings to replace them with more profitable luxury high-rises. No crazy tin-foil hat conspiracies needed, just simple greed, a economic practice almost as old as the city itself.

    2. It’s hard to believe that this is an accident.. The Government/politician/health officials are behind this.

  2. I’ve seen this happen to an old church in Canada. First thing that comes to mind is upgraded sprinkler systems. It’s 2020 and this DEFINETLY could have been avoided to such a gorgeous church ;(
