Cheney: Trump tried to contact Jan. 6 panel witness

The revelation that the House January 6 committee notified the Department of Justice of an alleged attempt by former President Donald Trump to contact a witness is the latest product of the panel's probe to involve law enforcement.
The detail, presented by Vice Chairwoman Liz Cheney, a Wyoming Republican, was perhaps the most unexpected moment of the hearing Tuesday. And for the second time, the committee's public hearings raise the possibility of a witness tampering investigation, in a swift move to bring in the Justice Department even before the committee's investigation concludes.

  1. I would have liked it better if the witness took the call, recorded it, and turned the recording over to the committee and/or DoJ.

    1. @Amelinda TOEIC all of the words and just add a URL to the video so you figured out that I was captioning your comment to flag your video with my bot lol I’ll just make an adjustment to my bought to look for just your Channel you don’t follow the link see if it goes to your channel and then just start recording and commenting same person using his backhanded method to get SEO for his videos

    2. That was a class line from those meetings. “Who are you?” That will be brilliant in a film or mini series on this whole Donny time after the election to the 2!st January on what he was at!

    3. Imagine being known as the Overstock Guy.I mean, most overstock is unwanted and is marked down to get rid of.But,most of the people in Trump’s orbit tend to be bargain basement ones or damaged goods.

    1. @UberLummox Well that’s great for book sales. I couldn’t care less.
If people want to forget history, then let them.
Book burning has been going on for centuries however the scale isn’t the same.
Almost all books are on the internet so nothing is just forgotten.

Yes… any talking head that spouts biased BS isn’t worth my time.

    2. @jennti You think of Beau as biased BS?
The sales of the books isn’t the point. It the people choosing to read them, like the very same students who the books were takkken away from.
I guess some think if someone doesn’t fit their narrative, they’re a talking head.

    3. @UberLummox You’re proving my point nicely by pushing your narrative. I’m not interested in your or his biased opinion.
      Solid effort though.

    4. @jennti You really might wanna rethink that. Just my o’pinion. I really don’t recall you making a point exactly, but very glad you’re at least watching though. Keep curious. Take’r easy!

  2. Yes they know the individuals name. Wolf asking him three or four times isn’t going to get him to change his answer.

    1. @Ryan Rickaby the point he was making in this specific video is the name of the person Trump called doesn’t matter. The message he was pushing is that they won’t stand for that behavior. Wolf was focused on the name and he was focused on getting that message out. Now I feel like a clown having to break that down.

  3. 18 U.S. Code § 1512 – Tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant

(b)Whoever knowingly uses intimidation, threatens, or corruptly persuades another person, or attempts to do so, or engages in misleading conduct toward another person, with intent to—

(2)cause or induce any person to—

    (A)withhold testimony, or withhold a record, document, or other object, from an official proceeding;

    (B)alter, destroy, mutilate, or conceal an object with intent to impair the object’s integrity or availability for use in an official proceeding;

(C)evade legal process summoning that person to appear as a witness, or to produce a record, document, or other object, in an official proceeding; or

(D)be absent from an official proceeding to which such person has been summoned by legal process; or

shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.

  4. Witness tampering is common for Trump, even in his business days. Either directly or indirectly.

    1. @Count Choculitis “I’ll take things ghetto vampire is having a tantrum about Trump doing, but was okay when Obama did it for $10,000 Alex”

Not only did I OWN you, but I upped it to 10,000 just to one up you there too.

  5. You can only call one a witness, in the court of law, only if that person can be cross examined.

    1. That committee hearing witness will probably become a criminal court witness. Same person, different set of rich people talking to him or her.

    1. And you know…this whole charade really falls apart with one very simple fact….there was no insurrection.

    2. @Jay Italia I’d LOVE to know what you’re smoking, that some high quality next level denialism. Maybe you should look up the word “fact” in a dictionary.

    3. @Jay Italia this is where you start playing your semantics game again, right? Call it a tourist trip for the kids if you want. We have Bannon on audio with the smoking gun. We know this “whatchamacallit” was planned.

    1. Maybe it was the same person who keeps telling ppl that they’re car warranty is about to expire.

  6. Kaitlan Collins is fine gorgeous 😍
Oh and Rudy ” We have alot of theories. We just don’t have the evidence ” Giuliani

  7. “So you know who the person is.” How many times does he have to come off as a dork asking the same thing over and over. Wolf is a joke,

  8. I love all this snowflake whining about Cheney saying these things without being challenged. Maybe if McCarthy hadn’t taken his toys and stomped off because they wouldn’t let a January 6th enabler onto the committee, there would have been other voices on that committee. Maybe all of this inflammatory and persuasive testimony would have never seen that light of a camera. Thank you McCarthy, your tantrum partially contributed to the success of these hearings. May you have the life you deserve.

  9. Who is this mysterious witness? And why did Raskin announce that next week’s hearing will be “a profound moment of reckoning…” for America……and in PRIME TIME! Well, they certainly know how to build an audience!!

  10. Sometimes i just pause to reflect how nuts it is that Liz Cheney is the backbone for American democracy. Shes like Darth Vader’s daughter, if he had a girl version…of Darth Vader, yet shes the hero. Thank god for Liz Cheney, weird as that sounds.

  11. Sounds like this witness is very savvy when it comes to the law and their own legal liability…Just sayin’

  12. How about the threads send to Rep Adam Kinzinger and his family?. It seems that nothing the authority can do about such threads?? What kind of democracy is in this country?? Rule of law seems to be disfunction!!

  13. Tried? how many did he contact already. All the cowards claiming the 5th, or ignored subpoenas. But then they will never tell, will they.
