  1. Can we just assume the republicans have all been taken over by body snatchers? It’s no more paranoid than Trump’s ideas about Ukraine…

    1. MysticFiddler1 Lol. So true. And Every patriot does knows we cannot have presidents illegally asking foreign governments to announce investigations into their political opponents to help them win an election. We have to impeach.

  2. Trump’s demagoguery is associated with past and present dictators, and it appeals to the worst nature in people. Demagoguery isn’t based on reason, issues, and doing the right thing; it’s based on stirring up fear and hatred to control people. Scapegoating is one of the most fundamental demagogic techniques.  Blaming all of his troubles, crimes, or bad optics on other groups, usually the media, or people of different ethnicity, this is done by projection. It relies on condemning others for what you’re doing. Projection is absolutely necessary for Trump’s scapegoating to be effective.

Demagogues like Trump chooses his words for their effect on their audience’s emotions, usually without regard for factual truth or the real severity of the danger. Some demagogues are opportunistic, monitoring the people and saying whatever currently will generate the most “heat”. Other demagogues may themselves be so ignorant or prejudiced that they sincerely believe the falsehoods they tell. Trump falls under both categories. And When one lie doesn’t work, the demagogue quickly moves on to more lies.

Demagogues have found that ridiculing or insulting others is a simple way to shut down reasonable and rational debate, especially with an unsophisticated audience, like what we’ve seen at Trump’s rallies. A common demagogic technique is to pin an insulting epithet on an opponent, by saying it repeatedly, in speech after speech, when saying the opponent’s name or in place of it. This is easily one of Trump’s favorite demagogic tools.

Since information from the press can undermine a Trump’s spell over his cultists, modern demagogues like Trump will often attack and demonized the free press. They will usually claim that the media can’t be trusted. They have even called out for violence against newspapers who opposed them, claiming that the press was secretly in the service of moneyed interests, or a deep state conspiracy against them, or claiming that leading newspapers were simply personally out to get him. No dictator can survive in a country that has a free press. This is dictatorship 101..

    1. @David J I was referring to moving the impeachment needle.

But I also understand what you are saying.

in a sense yes, and in my optimistic moments. I know .. KY, LA, PA and esp. VA all blue, just recently.

But I have also, now, seen analyses of the electoral college that show that the presidency can be won with as little as 23% of the popular vote.

To the degree that (with Russian help, as well as complete control over the entire federal apparatus as a reelection tool) they will be able dominate the narrative, selectively target their message, and when needed effectively hack our voter registration systems and otherwise suppress a fair election, and that any majority we might have could very possibly be irrelevant.

I am just not thrilled with for-sureness tonight.

Read that trump quote a few more times in the context of what you are hearing today from Barr, Trump meeting in the WH with Russia tomorrow, Zelinskey meeting “naked” (unsupported by trump .. “I hope you can work this out with Putin”} with Putin today, and Guilliani in the Ukraine putting the finishing touches on their documentary, absolutely free to come home and air it on Fox, and the whole Republican narrative.

    2. us citizen Impeachment needle has moved a great deal from 30% to 50% today. Facts and an informed public work.

  3. Every patriot knows we cannot have presidents illegally asking foreign governments to announce investigations into their political opponents to help them win an election.

    1. Joe surfer Another genius racist comment. You understand that flag you fly is literally the least American thing ever, right?

  4. Not sure if anyone noticed this, but when t’rump was asked about North Korea’s recent missile tests, his gut response was “Kim wouldn’t do that because he knows I have an election soon and wouldn’t want to hurt our relationship.” That right there was a glimpse into t’rump’s main priorities and the most honest thing he’s revealed since the time he said he wanted to bang his own daughter. 😆😅

Of course. Its always about trump.
The only surprise was, that he doesnt realize Kim is doing what he is doing because of that. Kim is now in charge, he keeps trump on the short leash because trump needs Kim more than the other way around – Kim can make him look really, really bad in election year. As a reward for not doing so, he gets a lot from trump. The first present was a wedge between the US and South Korea over spendings for military cooperation – its the Nato model, basically. Next thing was, that the US blocked a UN meeting concerning human rights violations in North Korea just this week…

Expect more presents from dotard to dear supreme leader… and also expect other world leaders to try to cash in on trump’s sinking presidency before he is out. They will milk the baboon dry!

Well, vote his asset out and his grin will wipe itself off of his face to give way for sheer fear of revenge by the next president.

  5. tRump is a one trick lame pony! He will go back to his racism, anti immigrant, build the wall, no collusion, MAGA mantra. He tweeted today over 100 times like a Twittler or something!

  6. I have come to really like Steve Schmidt. There is just something about this high level political strategist, the accuracy of his thinking, his both measured and powerful speaking, use of metaphors, understanding of current political realities, coupled with my perception of his patriotism, and historical understanding of the significance of this moment, makes him an irresistible “must watch” whenever I can catch him.

I know this is stupid, and mechanically impossible, but I think he would make a great candidate for, as well as a great office holder, as President of the United States.

I know we all have these thoughts about various people at various times, but can you imagine a debate stage with both Trump and Schmidt on it?

It would be interesting to see.

I have never, though, really seen him in a public gathering, have a hard time seeing him campaigning, and have no idea about his policies or person.

But this is not the first time this thought has forced tself into my head.

  7. 1934: The Plot Against America

In November 1934, federal investigators uncovered an amazing plot involving some two dozen senior businessmen, a good many of them Wall Street financiers, to topple the government of the United States and install a fascist dictatorship

The Congressional committee kept the names of many of the participants under wraps and no criminal action was ever brought against them. But a few names have leaked out. And one is Prescott Bush, the grandfather of the incumbent president.

  8. Say something mean to donald trump on Twitter or You Tube and expect ICE to bang on your door in the middle of the night and take you away to trump’s private prison. In the future.

  9. It’s already going on in the White House and if I was working at the While House right now I would call in sick or take a few vacation. I wouldn’t want a tounge lasing for DT

  10. The brownshirts have been empowered by the filth of man that has taken control of our nation. Now that your 1% owners have purchased the republican party, they control the senate, the white house and the supreme court. We have become nothing more than 1932 Germany, and all will happen again. Remember the words of Martin Niemöller…

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

    Then they came for me—
and there was no one left to speak for me.”

  11. TIME TO SEND HIGH GEARED NAVY SEAL COMMANDOS TO THE WHITE HOUSE AND ARREST TRUMP BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE !
AMERICA’S DEMOCRACY IS IN IMMINENT DANGER !
