Thing is Trump appealed to a greater audience, which also even got some current serving Senators and representatives voted into the office. It’s like GOP was hijacked by cultists or already on the path of becoming one after Romney.
@Andri r, yeah. I honestly don’t know what’s going to happen to the GOP now that they’re in the process of losing their most popular member. I think some of what we saw back in 2016 is due to Trump’s celebrity status before being elected (The Apprentice, Shark Tank, etc.). The GOP has fallen for voting in a celebrity before with Reagan. Another component is that Hillary Clinton still bore the stigma of what her husband did in the 90’s, so she wasn’t a popular candidate (although she definitely had better qualifications for being President). It’s definitely going to be a morning-after hangover for the GOP, with them supporting this narcissistic demagogue for so long.
They wanted to hang Pence and capture members, in order to keep Trump as president, and now they worry about unity?
