He bailed out over Holland as the plane exploded at 24000 feet, Dec 22nd 1943. Nineteen year old second lieutenant, navigator of their B-17 “Mrs America”. He was carried out on a stretcher, 87 pounds, camp liberated by the Russians . Salute to your Uncle and all our Dad’s. They were a great generation.
