CNN in Rome as Italy enters third lockdown

Italy enters another lockdown as the government attempts to contain a recent surge of coronavirus cases marred by the presence of new variants. Half of Italy's 20 regions, which include the cities Rome, Milan and Venice, are under new coronavirus restrictions from March 15. The measures will be effective through April 6. CNN's Melissa Bell reports from Rome.

  1. I just looked, I can’t see Rome from any window in my house.
The place I’ve been in Self Imposed Quarantine for 1 year 6 months because I SAW IT COMING & I’m Not Stupid.
The Entire World is Infected with Something I don’t have.
I just got rid of my little 30 year Gift From Afghanistan.

  2. Also here in the Philippines! We are entering the 2nd wave. Hospitals are again in full capacity😭

    1. A second wave after a little more than a year is still better than the US being in their third or fourth wave in the same time…

    1. @Mr. Nobody so herd immunity is the way…..the more people that get infected or have the vaccine the closer to making the virus less harmful….pretty simple logic

    2. @Jeff Koehne nope. Your logic is flawed but im not surprised. Herd immunity through spread of the infection is idiotic because the body count to get there would be in the millions and youd get even more variants which risks the rise of a far more deadly virus. But with vaccines you save millions of lives and prevent a bunch of variants all the while achieving herd immunity. You fail again. Nice try though.

    3. @Mr. Nobody the approved vaccine is 8 years away…the experimental one is yours for the taking….personally if i was over 60 i would take it.

    4. @Mr. Nobody that 7% of rioting did way more damage than the “insurrection” that no one even brought a gun to lol

    5. @michael majewski My original point of discussion was the irresponsible republicans causing another lockdown because they are by far the largest group against mask wearing and since you have no leg to stand on to debate that as i knocked down all your bs points you go to the tried and true deflection. Im talking about mask irresponsibility and you guys want to turn the conversation to the riots. fucking clown.

  3. What makes me shake my head in disgust is the fact that there are those here in the USA who believe that taking sensible precaution is the same thing as “living in fear.” There is a term for people like this – sociopaths.

    1. @???? As i said earlier, masks don’t protect the wearer – they protect society. If you want to kill yourself by the way you live, you are quite welcome to do so – just don’t take society with you.

    2. @James Harmon dude just wear a hazmat suit to keep yourself safe if you are scared or covid, don’t force all of the healthy people to wear a mask. There is a lot more people that won’t have a problem if they catch covid than the other way around. There is a new flu strain every year why didn’t everyone wear a mask 5 years ago??

    3. @???? “New flu strains” are less contageous and one tenth as deadly. If you think covid is just a strain of flu, you really need to do research.

    4. @???? Covid is a new strain of SARS for crying out loud; a disease few humans have any resistance to.

    5. @???? And here’s the real kicker… you can have covid for up to 2 weeks and THINK you’re healthy, all the while spreading it to all you know and love.

  4. Love international news.
It’s interesting to hear the different spin on the news in comparison to US spin.
    Same topic yet different angles.

    1. Maybe if the world held China accountable for the 2003 SARS pandemic and forced them to make changes to prevent it from happening again, this one wouldn’t have happened. 🤦 They’re not being held accountable again, so you don’t want to see what China will end up unleashing in 2027…

  5. There’s some stuff going on with that telephone pole in Colorado though… That’s for sure!

  6. I’m so happy and blessed I went to Highschool exchange in Florence Italy in 2002 times have change baby’s and kids have to grow up in a world that is now restricted to freedom I pray for Italy and the rest of the world

  7. I’m optimistic for the first time, half the adult population have been vaccinated in the U.K lock down comes to an end in the next few weeks; after a nightmare winter my government have actually done a god job for once. Pigs do fly!!
