  1. First of all, let’s all thank Clarissa and everyone else there for being so brave and courageous! As for Myanmar, prayers for everyone there! 🙏🙏🙏

    1. @Thy Kingdom Come You wrote that Myanmar would have been much better off without Colonialism.
For instance, there’s hardly any Muslim, Hindu or Christian in Myanmar up until British Colonialism.
I supposed it’s fair to say that many of these tragedies of Myanmar facing today, such as racial ethnic & religious conflicts, started with Colonialism.
I quite agree. Speaking of Rohingya, quite a few of them are legal and native of Myanmar, but the vast majority are just illegal Bengali immigrants from Bangladesh who moved not only to Myanmar, but also to North-East India and Nepal, by the millions.
The fact the Colonial Anglo West has left countless trails of ‘WRONGS’ that Indochina and other former colonial nations are still trying to untangle and get them right, to right those wrongs.
While at the same time, former Colonial powers and the West have been busy blacklisting, boycotting and sanctioning all those nations that try to right the wrongs of all their sins/wrongs of the past.
Since the world is still under their mighty military, economic and political control and influence; although to some degrees, it seems dwindling lately as China and others are rising steadily and thus slowly but steadily shifting the balance of the power of the world. Long live Myanmar & Indochina!

    2. @DeFrancoFollower I guess my point was… You don’t really know anything about how brave it is or isn’t for a CNN reporter to negotiate with the government – they could easily arrest/detain the reporter for an unintentional or unknown violation. It’s easy to armchair quarterback how difficult something is, but until you yourself do it, then you’re just spouting barnyard windage. The courage doesn’t have to be equal to be courageous. No other news outlet is covering what’s going on.

And your welcome to care or not care about the people over there, but that’s not the point of the story. The point of the story is a military coup is disregarding it’s democracy and is under military rule. Further, that government is killing its citizens if they are too vocal. Democracy being assaulted there – you don’t have to care about that either, but that’s what the story is about. When Sadaam killed his own citizens, a lot of people cared. This is worse.

    3. @Ole Fella You said; “The West is working hard to block China access to the sea through Myanmar; as with the case in the South China Sea where they have been working on for a decade.
More at my insightful multi-pages comment at, “Aung San Suu Kyi Exclusive Interview BBC”; https://youtu.be/MFEEmdKbqBE [Just scroll down a couple hundred other comments before you see my ‘Ole fella’ comment there.]

I said; “Truth hurts, isn’t it?”

  2. Yes thank Clarissa Ward for her efforts . Be safe. Praying for your safety. 3 fingers to all stand strong

  3. You can tell when a person is lying. They avoid eye contact, just like the military rep she interviewed.

    1. They are honest with their body movements. A lot of generals are people who didn’t even finished middle school. 😂

    2. @Swing E.R.
Name a “truthful” mainstream media source.
Point out which news sources you deem trustworthy.

    3. @Pwe Gree Psychology is psychology. Facts are facts. Culture and tradition are what they are, just that. Don’t mix it up. Eye contact and body language are important in formal meetings and interviews. This is an interview between a Major General and a Senior reporter, not two highschool kids who have a crush on each other and don’t have the confidence to look each other in the eye.

    4. He may not be lying. He could avoid eye contact for other reasons too. (My intuition is that he knows he is on the side of the bad guys.)

  4. Thank you Clarissa for hearing our voices. We knew that they are manipulating media access ,but at the same time we are intense of worries about being helpless and what if we could not reaching out to the world.Appreciated to you and CNN

    1. @allabout perspective Welcome. This is also an option: An Emergency Special Session. Under resolution 377A(V) “Uniting for peace” adopted by the General Assembly on 3 November 1950, an emergency special session can be convened within 24 hours: “If the Security Council, because of lack of unanimity of the permanent members, fails to exercise its primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security in any case where there appears to be a threat to the peace, breach of the peace, or act of aggression, the General Assembly shall consider the matter immediately with a view to making appropriate recommendations to Members for collective measures, including in the case of a breach of the peace or act of aggression the use of armed force when necessary, to maintain or restore international peace and security. If not in session at the time, the General Assembly may meet in an emergency special session within 24 hours of the request. Such emergency special session shall be called if requested by the Security Council on the vote of any 7 members, or by a majority of the Members of the United Nations”.

    2. CNN in Myanmar, great openness into the country to get first hands news on protests violence and rather quiet Yangon in first week April

    3. @Dank Memes are you American, please help Trump re-elect . Leave Myanmar to Myanmar people and Myanmar Military 👍👍🇲🇲🇲🇲🇲🇲

  5. My sister’s friend had been arrested by the polices after she had told the situation of burma! #Reject_burmese_military

  6. Thank you . I am from YANGON . We can’t speak out or protest . When we start it they come and shoot at with out warning . Myanmar people always love you.

    1. @Y K Impossible to understand what you have written. Better stay with one topic instead of throwing together a bunch of unrelated topics.

    2. @Herr tRumpenführer I am sorry, but what you describe in your reply to me, sounds sooo much like what a certain north american country has done multiple times around the world throughout history that I am having a hard time relating your answer to the CCP.

  7. Thank you so much Clarissa Ward for coming to MYANMAR and reporting the real news to the world. We , Myanmar people wishing to get help from the world. We dont want to lose more lives

    1. @TripleOOO Organization Organizing Operation
You’re a lying troll whose YouTube account is only 6 days old.
      *SHAME ON YOU*

    2. @TripleOOO Organization Organizing Operation
Sounds like you’re not only a troll but also a malignant narcissist.
      Is that you, Trump?

  8. Thank you Clarissa for hearing our civillians’ voices. you listened us by your heart so that could understand what exact feeling and what strong desire we have.

    1. Keep in mind that the people she interviewed on the street were adbucted right after and haven’t been seen since…

  9. Thank you Clarissa for seeing what’s really happening and hearing our real voices even though Terrorist Junta has been trying very hard to cover up and pushing all the lies to u 🙏

  10. Thank you so much for speaking out the truth, the truly voices of Myanmar people and let the world knows what is actually happening in Myanmar 🇲🇲
    #SaveMyanmar

    1. Sadly the people she interviewed have “mysteriously” disapeared and are probably not alive anymore.

    2. @Jasmijn This is the main reason why the world must know the cruel and inhuman acts of the military.Every person has the rights to talk about what they want to.But now they used their weapons to shut everyone’s mouth and this is illegal.

    3. @bulletproof’s babygirl Exactly, I’m all for giving the people of Myanmar a voice and a chance to tell the world but it is worth their lives?

    4. @Jasmijn Probably. These idiots will do whatever they can to hide what they’re doing but well you can’t hide the truth forever. Most places around the world already knew too so

    5. The reason behind the military junta’s oppressive measures is a desperate attempt to protect their assets, their power, their wealth etc. https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/jade-and-rubies-how-myanmars-military-amassed-its-fortune “Mines, banks, petroleum, agriculture, tourism: Myanmar’s ruling junta has vested interests in large swathes of the country’s economy, providing it a colossal – and closely guarded – fortune that the United States has targeted with sanctions. Through two highly secretive military-controlled behemoths – Myanmar Economic Holdings Limited (MEHL) and the Myanmar Economic Corporation (MEC) – at least 133 companies in the country are wholly or partially overseen by generals, according to a report by Justice For Myanmar (JFM). MEHL has partnerships with companies in China, Japan, South Korea and Singapore, among others. It has enriched its shareholders in Myanmar, who – according to the conglomerate’s government filings – are all current or retired military officials. Between 1990 and 2011, some US$18 billion was paid out to them, according to an Amnesty International report in September 2020. Junta chief General Min Aung Hlaing, reportedly one of the main shareholders, would have received some US$250,000 in dividends from MEHL in 2011 alone, the report said.”

    1. @Justin Min give me a second I don’t use fb or other social media that much so I have to create new acc. So much work to do😃😃

    2. @Stephie Hawn In Myanmar it is illegal for civilians to own guns, that would get them in a lot of trouble quickly. “In some countries like China, Japan and Myanmar only very limited number of people are allowed to own firearms and few licenses are issued; In a few countries, including Cambodia, Eritrea, and the Solomon Islands, ownership of firearms by civilians is completely prohibited. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overview_of_gun_laws_by_nation

    3. @Christiane Vanherck I know they can’t arm themselves. Hate guns myself but if the us armed the Democracy forces there it would be war. Seems to be already though. So sad and I wish there was something our gov would do. I’m hoping sanctions will help but I think that the civilians will need more help than that. Ofc cutting off the military money is important but it seems more is needed

    4. @Stephie Hawn The junta needs a lot of money to maintain their position in this oppressive situation, all countries that do business with them should cut off the money flow with targeted sanctions. http://www.straitstimes.com/asia/se-asia/jade-and-rubies-how-myanmars-military-amassed-its-fortune “Mines, banks, petroleum, agriculture, tourism: Myanmar’s ruling junta has vested interests in large swathes of the country’s economy, providing it a colossal – and closely guarded – fortune that the United States has targeted with sanctions. 11. Applause to Clarissa, she’s very courageous to speak truth whilst surrounded by the armed military

  12. We truly appreciated for hearing our voices and speaking out for us, Clarissa.. Truly…
    And stay safe !!!

  13. Free people all over the world are watching what is going on in Myanmar and will severely sanction the military “government” for their actions against its own people. Be strong, people of Myanmar your voices will be heard. God Bless you all and keep you safe!

    1. I witness all the events happening in Myanmar. Clarissa talks just about how the supporters of vote-thief were arrested but does not talk about how those anarchic mobs were brutal and inhumane, They set the factories on fire. They accuse the civilians of as being spies, shaved heads, tattooed on the fore-heads, set the people on fire alive. Clarissa Ward should let the world know from both sides.
Vote-frauds came first, Military actions came later.
Peaceful protests came first, no crack down made.
Violent protest came first, crack down came later.
Armed violences came first, crack down came later.
If vote-frauds, violemces and armed violences were for democracy, we don’t want it.
      We just want peace.
What if any other political party committed vote-thief as NLD did?
Will you all be silent as you are now?
Democracy should not be a shield for wicked people.
Democracy should not be a shield for the terrorists.
So called democrats now are killing threatening to those who do not support them/
      Is it the democracy?

    2. @kyawmin thu Vote fraud? What vote fraud? She already said in this video that the vote fraud was impossible to happen because there were also many who watches the election closely intetnationallt but they didn’t see any vote fraud. If there were vote fraud, then millions of people wouldn’t peacefully protest. Also, the MILITARY KILLED CIVILLIANS FIRST!To start with,a police officer killed a 19 years old girl in the head in Nay Pyi Taw while standing next to a bus-stop first. And you dare to say that peaceful protesters are rioters!? Of course, they have to make sheilds and wear protective helmets because the military are terrorists. They are not only shooting protesters but also at many houses recklessly. They are also shooting at the apartments’ windows and make the ordinary citizens scared. Moreover, they rammage through the citizens’ houses, take the people’s money and take the man and teenagers without a reason. Are you just blind and deaf or do you just not care at all??? And about “wicked people”,the military officers have been sucking the civillians’ blood for decades. They have been stealing our country’s resources .They have been living in our blood pool. So,the military officers are the wicked people. If it were other citizens I would not take it seriously but you have a burmese name and supporting the military.Do you have a brain at all?CHILDREN UNDER AGE 10 ARE BEING KILLED AND YOU CAN STILL SAY THAT THE MILITARY IS THE GOOD GUY?!

    3. @Shinthant Aung Then, why did Suu Kyi , her appointed UEC and government not give credible answer? Is that Democratic practice?
You said that there had been many watching election closely. So funny. How many groups did NLD allow to monitor?
Peruse my comment! What did come first? Violence or crack down?
You dare to talk about “Stealing, stealing”. Shame on you.
Noble old woman had stolen 600,000 of US$, 500,000 of US $ + 700 tickles of finest gold.
I don’t mean to support the military but should I support thieves and lairs?
You still dare to use ‘People, people, people. Shame on you.

    4. @kyawmin thu Oh my god. This is so funny. You are expecting an answer from a woman who has been ilegally detained under house arrest and cannot speak anything. There were many independence observers and they did not find anything wrong with the election. And another thing was the military was even threatening UEC to admit there were vote fraud so ……..? I will not talking someone who is ignorant but the military crackdown came first. The so called violent protesters were military-paid thugs and there is evidence on facebook. Also, you believe the deep fake video and false allegations charged against DASSK?Very funny:). DASSK is not a millionaire in our country but your military officers are.

  14. Heartbreaking. I traveled for 2 months in Myanmar. Wonderful people, beautiful country, I feel so bad for them.

    1. @Amir Samir Shhh shhh shhh the world is black and white, good and bad, like a childrens cartoon. People dont want to hear that their “victims” are actually mass murderers/rapists getting payback placed upon them by the groups THEY persecuted not too long ago. This is really about revenge, and the world has no fucking idea.

    2. @GodhandPhemto so u mean Muslims did kill ??
Okay let’s go to the history
So you want to talk about the black history of France and killing one million from the people of Algeria or about the crims of mass murder did by the British empire in Egypt or about the nuclear test from France to the people of Algeria
Or you wanna talk about the mass murder did by Italy in libya
Or u wanna talk about millions of Africans your west civilization slaved them killed them for joy ??
Or u wanna talk about AlQaida CIA creation???

Yhe truth that u built your civilization on us
Even your museums stole our history
Thousands of Egyptian treasures in Louvre, British, America anf Germany

Don’t lecture me about human rights go lecture your leaders who supports dictatorship and creat conflict in our world

    3. @GodhandPhemto tell me about your civilization and civilized world who cause the death of over 60 million people on ww2 ????

France steal the oil from Africa
America’s donald trump steals 400 billion from KSA

  15. Clarrissa, I couldn’t believe you were reporting from Myanmar. You are such a brave woman. Our people can’t thank enough for your present. We pray for your safety. In Klaymyo Township they have killed a mother and her young daughter who was also raped😭😭 I wish you and your team could go there???

    1. @Htet Naing Kyaw These comments about Rohingya are made by a team of trolls, they get paid for posting comments and replies to spread hate and lies. Better ignore them, their strategy is to deflect attention away from the issue at hand. The real issue is:
The military junta is AGAIN killing innocent people.

    2. @KING Ali It’s the military junta who ordered the killing of Rohingya. These people were living in an area with huge mineral wealth, the junta was eager to do business there and mine those mineral resources. The Rohingya refused to vacate, they had the right to live on their own land because they had been settled there for many generations. That’s why the junta ordered mass killings to drive them away, then burned their villages and took their land to make large profits. The junta tried to cover up this genocide by starting a disinformation campaign in order to spread hate and lies denouncing them as illegal immigrants.

    3. @KING Ali China desperately needs Myanmar’s raw materials for manufacturing. For example, China gets 95% of its tin from Myanmar, they get super cheap tin via Myanmar military contracts and needs that tin to produce circuit boards. So China strips mines and then leaves the land full of toxic chemicals while the military looks the other way.

    4. @BCD A In case you have additional fact-based information on important issues, please share it here and I will include that wherever needed to counter troll disinformation posts. We all need to work together and stand up for truth and justice in support of the people of Myanmar.

  16. Wow, the people are so happy you posted this! That’s great. I’m glad they’re getting the help of media they need in order to get the help they need from other countries and the un.

  17. Thank you for putting your life on the line in order for the rest of the world to hear our voices 🙏

  18. As an American it makes me happy to see mainly American news networks shedding light on the Myanmar killings. And what makes me even happier is that all news networks, no matter where they stand politically here in the states, are all supporting Myanmar

    1. there are plenty of media outlets reporting on this issue around the world are you maybe only seeing American news because your american ?

    2. Americans are so selfish centered there are British French indian and Chinese reports on the situation lol
