@Kevin McNeil The fact you’ve edited your post and it still contains several spelling and grammatical errors, and misses a lot of punctuation, is a bit of a concern.
Since Trump has espoused the US getting out of several military engagements and basically retreating from being a world influencer, why does the military need such large funding? I haven’t heard the Democrat’s plan for the military but it seems strange to boost funding for something you’re trying to use less.
As for Obama ‘slashing the crap out of the military budget’ – have you looked at US Military spending over the past 20 years? In 2008, Bush’s last year, the US Military spending was $622B. In 2009, which was Obama’s first year, it was $668.5B. It increased each of Obama’s first 3 years – peaking at $711B in 2011. So, that’s an increase of 90 Billion dollars compared with the highest level of Bush’s term. From there it decreased again, back down to $600B in 2016. That’s still higher any point under Bush, with the exception of his last year.
I will also point out that military spending as a proportion of GDP has actually *fallen* under Trump. The lowest level under Obama was 3.21% of GDP, in 2016. That’s down from 4.66% in 2010. Up to 2018 (which is all I can get stats for), the highest under Trump is 3.16% of GDP – less than Obama.
So, the evidence does not back up your argument – in fact, it supports the opposite. The Democrats have increased military spending compared with Republicans over the last 20 years, both in raw numbers and as a proportion of the economy.
