  1. They gave themselves 2 hours to read a 5,000 page bill. Most of them don’t even know what’s in there

    • @Lydia Wrench No they knew what they themselves put in it not what everyone else did. It’s not hyperbole, they literally don’t know what all is in there. I guarantee we will hear about more of the bizarre stuff in there in the coming days. It’s a real shame Senate Republicans lowered the stimulus check amount

I’ll tell you what is in it.

Korea and other foreign countries got money. $500 million. Military got over a billion (I think not sure if the number but its up there)
All the federal dept.s got money (like dept. of agriculture)
This is all money that could’ve came to us and there’s so much more where they sent our tax dollars

    • Remember they’ve been working on legislation since April..remember Congress has already passed more than a handful ofdifferent spending bills that they’ve sent to the Senate that Mitch McConnell refuses to hold a vote on.

    • @D B Agreed the cares act would have been better. Senate Republicans always find a way to go along with handouts as long as it doesn’t help average Americans

  2. The relief bill is almost 6,000 pages long.
Nobody has actually read the whole thing, and yet it will still get passed and signed.
I’m no expert, but that seems like a pretty dumb way to make laws.

    • @Anthony Browne I think one hundred may be to short in some cases, but 5000+? I agree that is way to much.

    • @D B Do you really think that’s the same? If you don’t sign on to these platforms you can’t use them. Being in congress, you better know what you are signing.

    • @Ro G they’ve been working on legislation since April..remember Congress has already passed more than a handful ofdifferent spending bills that they’ve sent to the Senate that Mitch McConnell refuses to hold a vote on.

The bill was put on the floor at 2:45pm to be read, and votes were due at 9pm

    • @Anthony Browne So would you rather people suffer?

  3. ❤️ great interview

  4. What about reparations for all of us that lost everything due to this pandemic? I’m all for african american people getting reparations but it should not stop there. So many people lost everything this year and we all need to be compensated for this and that measly little 1200 and 600 dollar checks isn’t going to do anything

  5. Voters in Georgia would do well to remember that Republicans didn’t act on COVID relief until they feared the loss of their Senate majority.

  6. America is rich ‘coz Republicans are stingy to its voters but generous to their funders, i.e. large corporations and the establishment elite.

    • The underlining contest is between a small minority who have gained power over the system, and the vast majority who have little or none.

Hey stupid it has nothing to do with Republicans!

@REAL BLACKS KNOW THE TRUTH No matter what you say, no matter what you think and no matter what you do, we’re going to drag Baby Trump out of the White House.

Where does he pay rent, cable and go food shopping for 600?

  8. The system is not broken it was designed this way

This is dead on! It’s pathetic! But know this fact…..BOTH parties agreed to this

  10. We need monthly disaster relief checks DUH!!

Republicans only care about their Donors. Citizens simply don’t matter.

    • The GOP has become hostile to the very idea that there’s an objective reality that might conflict with its political goals.

  12. Please stop calling it stimulus. This is relief. The US needs relief.

  13. Why are the two Democrats running for the Senate in Georgia NOT emphasizing that if the Democrats were in control of the Senate, the Average American would now be getting a $1200 stimulus check (instead of $600) and that by now it probably would have been their third one.

    • Voters in Georgia would do well to remember that the Republicans didn’t act on COVID relief until they feared the loss of their Senate majority.

The relief bill gives other countries more money. Americans need extra money.

  15. The ‘system’ is in no way malfunctioning. It was engineered to perform just as it has.

Hopefully Georgians will choose the right candidates for Senate & struggling folks will get more money after 1/20.

Americans dying of thirst and you give them a drip of water. Sad !!!

  18. $600 1 month rent food stamps. Sounds like a welfare payment

  19. Say it loud Jamaal – glad you’re in office.

  20. This was international aid not COVID relief
