Conspiracy theorists said she started the coronavirus pandemic. Now she’s afraid for her life.

Conspiracy theorists claim military worker Maatje Benassi brought coronavirus to China. She didn't. Benassi speaks exclusively to CNN's Donie O'Sullivan about how being the target of these theories has ruined her life.

    1. @MoD PR So what you’re saying is that you would believe a criminal. A federal criminal. Over the factual and backed reporting of several mainstream news sources. Instead throwing your weight at the idea that a woman and man who aren’t in any way significant to government or otherwise, should be blamed for the outbreak of this virus. That’s what you’re saying? So, it wasn’t the slow government response? Or their denial that it was happening? Or that it was as serious a disease as it is? Not those things…? So by your own rational, its still not these peoples fault. No one at that time (Mid-Oct.) knew anything about the virus how it spreads or anything about it. So even if this woman was patient zero, its still the governments fault for not doing the contact tracing to find and isolate her. Besides she didn’t go from place to place all over the world spreading it. People did that. Other people. Not this lady, or her husband. If you are correct and she can be traced to being “patient zero”, what does that matter? She couldn’t have done something to stop it. She’s not an epidemiologist, a virologist, or doctor of any kind that deals with infectious disease. Those are specialties that are, at the moment, pretty rare. She’s more of a victim in this right now than most people. because although everyone has to stay home and worry about their future. She has to wonder if she will have any future at all. And all she did to earn such ire and notoriety? Compete in a set of Olympic games, specifically for our military service members. Good for this guy. Not only has he spread a rumor around looking for a lynching, but it happens to be a U.S. Army Veteran. Good on you.

    1. @Loving Myself keep loving yourself that’s the way we change the world. Stay strong and vigilant my friend

    2. 1. @Frances Norred I want you to know that the Frank comment was pretty great lol. Maybe only 5 words, but Im laughing pretty hard and wishing I could give you a high five. 😂😅🤣🤣🤣

    2. @Leanna Skiba THANK YOU for Your High Five to me.== VERY Kind And Much A-p-p-r-e-c-i-a-t-e-d!!!

    1. @Clark Howell – Contrary to what you have been taught in your upbringing, cursing does not add validity to your argument. It usually means you are lacking the necessary vocabulary to make your point.
Now for a lesson in law. “Discovery” can only hurt the party that is offering for discovery , lies or mistruths , poor or non existent evidence.
That is the modus operandi of a certain Mr. Webb, who claims to be a journalist yet makes no effort to confirm his source. Instead he says that his information comes from someone who “claimed” to be working at Ft. Belvoir.
      Try bringing that to court.
      Got it? Idiot!

    1. @Anna Whitesell but wouldn’t whoever told him violated the HIPPA law? So if he exposed the the name of who told him it would not be him in trouble. He’s not the one with a patient-dr confidentiality agreement. He must really really really care about his source lol

    2. @Leanna Skiba perhaps you have not read my words correctly. I am saying the “source” would not violate the law just to give information to this hack. I am sorry if it was not clear in my original statement.

    3. @Anna Whitesell lol sry I just realized that. I thought you said him..you did say the source. I read wrong

    1. Snow Angel We have nothing to discuss. Your mind is closed to truth. I cannot communicate with you.

    1. @VICMORROWFAN In the meantime, a 59year old NYC Emergency Hospital doctor tested positive, she was sent to quarantine, went to be with her family in North Carolina and committed suicide there, apparently the stress was too much for her. Who knows what she went through over the past few weeks.

    2. And CNN, because now millions more people know who she is. This is just like when Fox kept airing the Princess cruise passenger with Covid. He got a LOT of death threats!

  1. If this woman is recieving death threats, then I believe mr. Webb and his cronies need to be placed in a small dark cell.
