As a long time Philly resident, that statue should have come down a long, long time ago. Actually, it should have never gone up.

Finally, thank God. Tired of seeing that huge symbol of a racist when I walk through Center City. He had the same spirit as Bull Conner, Richard Guiliani, George Wallace, J. Edgar Hoover, etc.

Don’t forget George Washington and Jefferson

If you see racism everywhere, it’s probably because you are a racist.

    • @Carlos Stranger I guess you also support destroying the Colosseum since that was also built by slaves? In fact, lets just be sure and destroy every building older than 100 years.

    • @ZoomerX24 I know right? People have fully crossed over into delusional/psychotic break territory.

  7. That man was the face of police brutality against Black people of Philadelphia. First as Police Commissioner then as Mayor. Let him burn! He was a true bigot!!!

    • RIZZO was a true American hero!

    • @Tom AW F you ,America and Rizzo!

    • @Der Deutsche-Scotsmen I’ve seen it for myself as a child. He made Black Men stand on the city corner and strip naked. All the while he stood there with a blow horn. He said that he would stop gang activity. Not once did he ever go against the white gangs or the mob, which were heavy in the part of the city that he was from ( South Philly) F him and anyone who is affiliated, related or connected to him.

@Daddy love lol that had little to do with just “white gangs”. He might’ve been racist, sure but the mob wasn’t gone after for a reason. They had so much corruption nd influence, due to their organization. Very few black gangs are even organized enough to escape the law like they did

F a statue. We need to have laws changed and created.

We need a list of demands.

  12. And only now this statue is removed? It tells you all you need to know about the institutional racism and bottomless hypocrisy in the US.

  13. Sucks when you cutoff video in mid sentence.

    • Commies? Pretty sure Republicans are not communist but hey if you hate commies, that’s awesome. Communist is just as oppressive as fascism.

Day after tomorrow they will Removed the statue of Jesus Christ

  18. Growing up in South Philly, we really caught it under his reign. We were terrorized by the police the entire time he was Mayor. He taught me how “NOT” to trust the police! I’m 60 and I still don’t trust them!

“It is remarkable that the statue was brought down”. What’s remarkable is that the statue was there in the first place.

  20. Andrea Mitchell “knew” Rizzo well when she was reporter at KYW1060 radio.
