The Democratic party during that time period were split and at odds with what would be identified as the Southern Democrats, who were ‘confederate’ and pro-slavery (and those Democrats associated with the KKK) and the Northern Democrats who were against slavery and who eventually evolved, with many twists and turns, into the current Democratic party.
Comparing the same-named party then and now is like comparing apples and fruit loops amidst two extremely different socioeconomic environments. The link with Democrats and KKK, slavery, etc. is completely irrelevant.

Arizona along with Texas and Florida were obviously lying to their citizens when you look at the cases and deaths. Florida and Texas stand out as a liar almost to Russian scale when it comes to deaths if you look at the numbers. And this is important because for the last month people in those states have done things they might not have done if they were properly informed. Is there is a Republican politician left in those states in 4 years the voters are giving a big thumbs up to bad government that leads to thousands of unnecessary deaths.

Elderly dying in agecare facilities in the US are often not be reorded as a covid19 death.The real Covid19 death count could be 30% higher thsn the official count.
