This could have been avoided, they wasted the first lockdown by not making sure the situation was handled.

Political image put ahead of the public good.

Just two days late, Trump’s birthday gift to the nation will be 3 million covid cases and 133,000 covid deaths, even as he claims that 99% of the cases are harmless.

@Crystal Giddens Why then, did the Health Ministry enlist the help of Mossad, (world-wide) to “procure” the needed medical supplies and know-how, to combat the virus, when they listened to the wrong people (Yitzhak Ben-Israel) about how limited the virus would be?

When Trump is removed from office, after the election, he has to be kept accountable and be charged for his crimes.

Wearing a mask is mainly to protect others from you. Try this: stand 3 feet in front of a mirror and spit at it. Now try that with your nose and mouth covered.
    See a difference?
A mask will help protect against direct contact with the virus but snot and spittle CAN still land on the mask, your hair, your uncovered face and your clothing from someone not wearing a mask. If someone sees YOU are not wearing a mask why should THEY wear one too protect YOU? Set an example.

    • @William H <---- troll. russian or chinese?

    • @J. Lo He allowed American citizens to return to America from China with no quarantine !!!!!! How fecking stupid is that???!!!!!!

    • @Crystal Giddens Sunshine – keep up!!! The US peaked (like other countries of a similar culture), subsided a little and is now seeing an exponential increase in the number of new infections. The number of infections are NOT rapidly declining in America. Deaths will follow in 3 to 4 weeks. Professor Ben’s theory has a hole in it big enough to drive a bus through it.

This means that the US is not similar in culture to all those other countries. It just has trump and the republicans screwing things up.

The overarching duty of any government is to protect the people and this is a dreadful dereliction of duty by your president and his administration.

    • Jeff Gibson | July 6, 2020 at 3:13 PM | Reply

That is an uneducated opinion. The duty of the US government is to protect the rights of the people.

    • Andy C Lawlor | July 6, 2020 at 3:39 PM | Reply

@Jeff Gibson I beg to differ. In my original comment I mentioned “any government” not the US government, which has failed time and again not only to protect it’s people but also to uphold the rights of those people.

    • @Jeff Gibson You mean like the right to peacefully protest and the right to a free press? Those rights?

You need to go back to 6th grade arithmetic. 60% with have been exposed and developed antibodies. Only one in a thousand will get sick or die.

    • Matthew Trần | July 6, 2020 at 3:34 PM | Reply

@Jeff Gibson what kind of statistic is that ???? 1/1000 ???? dude it’s a pandemic !!!! im not good with maths but i believe it’s 5/100 PER DAY and just a few days ago US hit 50k infected cases !!!! and this is just a simple statistic math , which means it’s higher than that (according to ” every day is a new reacord” in US )

    • Jeff Gibson | July 6, 2020 at 3:48 PM | Reply

@Matthew Trần Of course every day is a new record because the total number can never go down. People cannot UN-DIE. The only statistic that counts is the number of NEW deaths and New hospitalizations everyday. 235 new deaths yesterday. The epidemic is almost over.

    • Matthew Trần | July 6, 2020 at 4:01 PM | Reply

@Jeff Gibson 235 is not almost over for my opinion== 0 deaths is almost over . 0 deaths and less than 10 infected cases (0 would be better) means that it’s over ==
” 1 deaths is too many ” -> i agreed with Chump on this statement !!!

@Eli Dicken All any sane person has to do is look at a graph of all cases, No way you can say we don’t have the most and we are going to keep it that way, See trump is banking on this murderous rampage he is on will build herd immunity! It is not science, it is Steven Miller and Jarred Kushner high on crack again! When every third world country has it handled and are laughing at us! I guess they know more than us and trump!

    • @Killroy was here So are you saying that to get to the USA .. KIM would first give the virus to his ONE an only best communist friend ….CHINA! The China that provides him with a lot since the USA has so many SANCTIONS on them they can barely fart….. You understand that China got the virus first… You can actually follow the wave across the globe all the way to the USA.
I really don’t understand WHY American people think the USA is the only country on planet earth.

    • good one footy

    • Jeff Gibson | July 6, 2020 at 3:23 PM | Reply

“Cases” are meaningless. The ONLY number that counts is sick people-dead people. You look old enough to know that.

    • David Shaughnessy | July 6, 2020 at 4:10 PM | Reply

So the U.K does 5 times as much testing, but there are almost as much if not more cases in the state of Florida alone than in that entire region? Doesn’t add up.

    • Football Nerd | July 6, 2020 at 4:21 PM | Reply

@David Shaughnessy Well it does add up. The UK took this seriously and now have this under control. Florida doesn’t, hence why a much higher percentage of their tests are coming back positive.

    • Football Nerd | July 6, 2020 at 4:21 PM | Reply

@Mar d Yes, you’re right. I’m not playing Nostradamus but, it’s going to come out one way, or the other. I doubt there will be a neutral or innocuous result. The media will exaggerate it greatly, if it’s a negative result. They’ll use it like a truncheon on conservatives, forgetting that Dem. Gov. Whitmer calls the shots.

    • john emeigh | July 6, 2020 at 6:29 PM | Reply

@Timurphy was here I understand his concepts; you are just trying to politicize them. You are the most obvious and perverse example of virtue signaling there is. You’re a Tammy Faye Baker without the make-up. You have acknowledged there are dominating gov’ts. Republicans are for the weak and needy, and giving them a hand up. How did you spend your stimulus money, heretic?

    • @john emeigh when it comes to this virus I’m not political. Where I am located all political parties shoved their differences aside and worked on ‘flattening the curve.” It was actually refreshing to have them work together instead of flinging mud at each other. As for the media – what can I tell you? I’m a bit lucky, a good friend of mine is a scientist and I go to him with questions.
