epidemiologist at oxford university have found traces of covid 19 virus in waste water in italy, spain and brazil dating as far back as march 2019, leading them to believe that the virus might have been laying dormant around the world for some time before beginning to spread to human populations. WHO could be wasting its time taking that trip to china, after all
The ‘Bat Doctor’ (I forget her name) out of the Wuhan Institute for Virology has a long-dated history of trying turn a Bat SARS virus into a human virus. She did an interview and TED talk about her work. That was a couple years ago and she disappeared for a few months in China after the outbreak. Having said that anything is possible at this point. It’s too early to rule out any possibility.
@Steph Fahey agreed. forensics geneticist robert forster tracked it down to south china (quandong) and believes it might have made the jump around september 2019. I think every theory should still be thoroughly investigated at this point. As you said. anything is possible
