@ruth depew No, that is not what the paper says. It states that “Vaccine candidate was found to be more than 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 in participants without evidence of prior SARS-CoV-2 infection in the first interim efficacy analysis”, not preventing symptoms, preventing infection. Participants were tested to see if they had the virus. The only slightly bad news is this is an mRNA vaccine, which means it breaks down easily and must be kept frozen. And also, it requires two doses.

@M A Nonsense. The vaccines were already under development before then, and Pfizer does not seem to be any part of “warp speed.” Fauci put together the vaccine effort in the 2nd or 3rd week of January, months before Trump ever admitted there might be a problem (which he still says there isn’t btw).

Because Pfizer refused to release it before the election day.

@karen Burrows Err, no. They’re vaccinated first (twice because Oxford-AZ is a two-shotter), then after a couple of weeks after both shots have had the opportunity to do their work they’ll be exposed to SARS-CoV-2 in a heavily controlled lab/ hospital setting.
That’s a plain lie. They vaccinated half of 44000 people, the rest got placebos. Afetr a few months they looked how many people in each group got COVID – and it was significantly less in the vaccinated group. This is a significant result, and if you have only lies to counter them you should just shut up.

Pfizer is only the producer and distributor in the US. The developer and owner of the vaccine is BioNTech in Germany.
