  1. Great lesson. I know it may not be intentional, but just for clarity.

    Question: The gross annual salary earned by a civil servant is $1.6 mil. Determine his net monthly salary, if he has monthly deductions of $24,000

    (Incorrect) The net monthly salary = the gross annual salary / 12.

    (Correct) The gross monthly salary = the gross annual salary / 12
    or (Correct) The net monthly salary = the gross annual salary / 12 – monthly deductions
    Or as explained in the lecture…

    The gross monthly salary = the gross annual salary / 12
    The net monthly salary = the gross monthly – monthly deductions
