  1. Just imagine if during President Obama’s term, he had singled out only red states, and told them that instead of declaring a state of emergency whenever they were hit with natural disasters like floods, tornadoes, and hurricanes, they should file for bankruptcy instead. But of course that’s something that he would have never done.

      Please do your own research.
IT’S worse in the heat and a killer for the elderly..
Effects on in necessary mask wearing.. TRUE FACTS…

Carbon dioxide (CO2) rebreathing has been recognised as a concern regarding respirator use and is related to symptoms of discomfort, fatigue, dizziness, headache, muscular weakness and drowsiness. Previous investigations are limited by small sample size and have not evaluated the relationship between CO2 inhalation and phonic respiration (breathing during speech) in respiratory protective devices (RPDs). A total of 40 workers trained in the use of RPDs performed a graded exercise test on a cycle ergonometer that increased in workload every 5 min. During the third minute of each stage, participants read aloud a prepared text. Measures of mixed expired CO2 (PECO2), mixed inspired CO2 (PICO2) and respiration were monitored. The results showed that phonic respiration and low work rates contributed to significantly higher levels of CO2 rebreathing. Aiming to reduce CO2 exposure may result in improved wear time of RPDs. It is recommended that these findings be incorporated in technical specifications regarding human factors for RPDs.

@Anne Liesveld If any place could have been a control group it could have been any Walmart or grocery store period. Get out much…obviously not. People who sit inside all day all night are the ones compromising their immune systems. I am sure not everybody where you live shops on line unless you live in the boonies.

Cuomo understands science? So why did he return sick elderly patients back to the epicenter of the Virus, Nursing Homes while the Javits Center & USS Comfort sat empty?

Is that why more people have died in NY than any other state?

    • There is a potential cure to COVID-19 that you will not hear too much about, the extremely cheap drug Ivermectin.  When I contacted friends who I went to school at Harvard back in the late ‘80’s about it, I was viciously attacked via emails sent to friends in common to silence me.  Later, I discovered these same people had labs searching for a cure/vaccine for COVID-19.  My law clients (friends) and their family members in Ecuador believe this cured them, and it appears to be curing many throughout South America, very cheaply (from $1 – $5 a person, depending on the source).
To give you an idea of its impact, based upon the numbers, according to the AP, as of 11:19 pm on May 5, 2020, Confirmed global cases, deaths and recoveries from COVID-19:*
United States has confirmed at least 1,203,673 cases and 71,031 deaths from the coronavirus. Of those infected with COVID-19, 189,791 people have recovered.
Brazil has confirmed at least 114,715 cases and 7,921 deaths from the coronavirus. Of those infected with COVID-19, 48,221 people have recovered.
Thus, the percentage of recovered to confirmed cases in Brazil is 42.0% (48,221/114,715).
The percentage of recovered to confirmed cases in the US is 15.7% (189,791/1,203,673).
What do they do differently in Brazil than in the US? Many things, but perhaps most significantly in Brazil they routinely administer Ivermectin to cure COVID-19.
*Map updates hourly. Figures are as reported by governments and health authorities and may include probable positive cases and deaths.

Intelligent, compassionate, educated, hardworking people enjoy seeing someone even more intelligent, compassionate and hardworking leading the nation-the world, even-in this crisis. And here he is, the de facto leader of the USA. Much gratitude to him for filling the hole in leadership that is Washington DC and simultaneously improving our international standing with his own effort.

I keep up with the scientific papers, and this virus is really odd. New ways of dying from it are being reported every day. We know so little and we need to proceed with caution.

@D D I m sure it differs. In the Walmart closest to my home, everyone is pretty well behaved. Most everyone observing social distancing. The only thing I noticed, the first day that they had arrows on the floor, some got confused. Possibly customers are ignoring the rules? We have very few small local grocers left in this area. Walmart, target, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, a fee Aldi’s, and Lidl’s. Any store i have been in for the past nine weeks are doing much better at running thru the pandemic than the White House.

    • Hazel McCloy | May 7, 2020 at 5:46 PM | Reply

@Anne Harris Aldi And Lidl these Germans get every where.

    • Anne Harris | May 7, 2020 at 6:21 PM | Reply

@Hazel McCloy I know they are both German.. they have only been here about 5 yrs. We have a whole foods. Food lion, and Harris teeter are chains owned inside the state. I meant we don’t have small local grocers left..everything is a chain.

@Long Range Rifle Cuomo is about as “Commie” as Ronald Reagan. And, with the despicable things Trump and the Republinazi Party are doing to our Democracy ,YEAH, I’m a liberal Christian and a progressive Democratic American Patriot. And proud of it. The “,Rats” however, are in the Republinazi Party, along , apparently, with you.
Remember this : the pendulum swings and just as in every administration since Dubbya’s the Democrats have had to come back and fix what they broke. None have been so damaging as widdle donnie and his Brownshirted lap dog psychophants. That’s OK. We’re used to it.
      BTW: Jesus was a Commie.

watching from Canada I agree, but Inslee and Newsom are doing very good jobs too. They all take their gubernatorial responsibilities seriously, unlike that fat fool in the WH.

    • @Moe Snert He knows how to communicate the facts UNVARNISHED. Perhaps you should instead assert that, as contrasted with Trump, he knows how to BEHAVE as a RESPONSIBLE ADULT.

Otherwise, if you haven’t anything constructive to offer, then you should shut your hateful yap.
