‘Death Wish’: Trump Says ‘Self-Destructive’ Trump Fuels Impeachment With ‘Impulsive’ Behavior

President Trump is engulfed in Ukraine scandal and impeachment probe, as Dems ramp up their strategy. Tony Schwartz, ‘Art of the Deal’ co-author, joins MSNBC’s Ari Melber on why President Trump ‘sees the world as against him at all moments,’ and the pressure from the damning testimony from his own staff. Schwartz argues Trump has a ‘self-destructive impulse’ and his ‘paranoid’ creates a ‘vicious cycle’ that makes everything ‘he fears’ become ‘true.’ Aired on 10/24/19.

'Death Wish': Trump Says 'Self-Destructive' Trump Fuels Impeachment With 'Impulsive' Behavior

  1. Trump is demanding that republicans in the House and the Senate throw themselves into a wood chipper for him. And it appears that some of them like Matt Gaetz and Lindsey Graham are more than willing to sacrifice themselves for him by jumping in feet first.

    1. They’re under the impression that trump won’t screw them over in a heartbeat if it suited his needs. Trump has no loyalty to anyone but himself but he demands loyalty from everyone, including his enemies.

  2. I don’t think he’s any different, just amplified to a really scary extent. He’s just being faced with more pressure and exposure. His narcissism is evident.

But Tony sure is right that the republicans aren’t changing because they’re worried about the country, it’s all self-interest.

    1. @Eli Hill Actually Democrats are only 2 percentage points larger than Republicans. The largest is the Independent party, and we are the ones pushing the impeachment process forward. This is bigger than election. This is about making clear that from the President to the last person to become a citizen are all bound by the constitution and the laws under it. He calls a part of the constitution phony and it may be fine by you, but I amd others take great offense in a person who took an oath to defend it, dismissing parts that he deems illegitimate.

    2. @Town _Biznessman The issue here is the objective view to as to whenever or not he is upholding the law or breaking it. Many republicans are seeing the lengths people are going to try to pin trump with a crime. In 2016 we Literally started a huge investigation over claims by the Democrats and Intel sources on their side. Right now we are trying to impeach a president over wherever or not he bribed Ukraine to arguably investigate corruption that may have taken place in 2016. The objective focus on the Democrats and many in the media choose to only focus on Trumps push to investigate Biden despite the clear focus on the DNC’s actions as a whole. Clearly on a surface level investigating corruption is upholding the constitution, but people who hate the president don’t think hes doing that because of the media and the confirmation basis against him. I will defend Trump on this matter until time and true evidence proves me wrong. From my perspective this impeachment insanity is all about regaining power.

    1. Trump is Democrat’s worst enemy. They tried to destroy the most powerful man in the world. He’s angry and full of ideas.

  3. Just imagine if Obama even committed one of Trump’s crimes, or even said one of the crazy things that Chumpy says every day.

    1. They said he did commit (repubdicks) those crimes the Grand Wizard has committed! But it’s okay with them cause he is a republican.

    1. Exactly. Tony’s insights are valuable, and here he points out well what’s behind the crazy ‘death wish’ behaviour.

Great analysis indeed by Mr Schwartz, however the folk in the rust belt have totally ignored Tony’s remarkably accurate predictions about the man child in the oval office.Regards

    1. In in full agreement with you my friend . I keep hearing that there are those who says he’s highly above the law ok that means he can just go out on a killing spree & get away with it Scott free .

    2. @Daniel Holmes – You’re hate is totally understandable when dealing with someone like trump who knows nothing of honesty, or humbleness. He only knows how to be arrogant, vindictive, deceitful, self-serving, petulant and hateful. These are not the qualities of a president, but attributes of a spoiled entitled child.

    1. @long nose “a liar who beliefs his own lies…”. Geez can anyone write a sentence correctly? I know that public schools are grossly incompetent but I mean really

    2. Its believes not beliefs.
Can you make an effort to use commas. You are an example of the failing public school system.

  4. I agree with Tony Schwarz that the so-called “introspection” that Republicans (some) may be going through is related to self-interest.

  5. Effective?!? Trump is effective at “doing deals” in the same way that Jack the Ripper was an “effective” surgeon.

  6. Trump only learned from the Mueller report that he can get away with abuse of power and thats why he immediately colluded with another forigen power trying to influence the next election.

    1. @bingbonga binga You FOOL!! DONALD TRUMP is blocking and denying EVERYTHING. if that is not the REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES hiding it, what is it?

    2. @bingbonga binga You don’t have a clue, the United States Supreme Court: US v Nixon. Executive Privilege does NOT apply to any investigation by Congress regarding a criminal offense, that’s the reason he had to turn over the tapes. He resigned after he turned over the tapes, but before the full House of Representatives voted on filing the Articles of the Impeachment. BECAUSE of that decision by the Supreme Court, Obstruction of Justice charges were included. He had done the exact same thing as Trump is pulling, claiming Executive Privilege gave him the authority to deny Citizens of the United States their right to testify to Congress, BECAUSE of that decision, it does not. A Obstruction of Justice has absolutely nothing to do with the results of it, it only applies to the actual investigation. Blocking or hidering in any way an ongoing investigation, is an Obstruction of Justice. I just turned 62, I grew-up watching that saga happen.

Can’t help but believe, the rebups had advanced knowledge of DrUMPf, prior to nov 2016. When electoral college inserted the suppository, in US oval office, against the majority vote. Second of last three sitting execs. Both were some of the worst.
They might run Romney. If DrUMPf falls.
      Bernie is a good ticket.
The electoral college has control and may very well be controlled.

  7. I agree, the walls of his comfort zone are showing massive cracks, his whole “gestalt” is showing cracks.

    1. Firstname Lastname : gestalt ,there are very few people who will understand the word even though you explained it Beautifully
