  1. Two words: Adrienne Clarkson. Queen want to be. Same with Queen Payette. I wish I had a lifetime pension after three years. Did I mention tax free compensation under the Income Tax Act?

    1. Don’t say that. That’s just disrespectful to the real Queen. The Queen seems like a much more friendly person.

  2. $400,000 for Report that confirmed Payette was indeed a bad manager and created a toxic workplace. She was asked to resign. By resigning she gets to keep her $150,000/yr pension from now until she dies. Say another 25 years. A bad employee like Payette will cost taxpayers $4.1 Million. In the private sector she would have been fired for cause with no Severance Pay. Once again the privilege of Governement!

  3. I think Canadians deserve to see the documents. If she abused her power or committed harassment she must lose her pension and perks.

  4. She should get not a penny more from Canadian taxpayers, no pension, nothing. Canadians are suffering. Also should pay back all money spent to modify Rideau Hall to her specifications. No more Governor Generals for Canada! GG and Senate are more waste of taxpayers money! Put money towards Healthcare and fighting COVID-19!

  5. And so she should just like all politicians no more lifelong pensions no more perks you’re out you’re out

  6. I would get rid of this position just for the price. We pay millions to hire the person, staff their office, pay for their travels, protect them (lord knows from what), and then pay them even more in pensions. Like what an utter waste of money, millions spent on an institution that gives NOTHING back to the country. Literally nothing. Most of the country also doesn’t even know their name.

  7. But the real hapocracy is that niether took responsibility for their actions. That is because “we all experience things differently”, right…

    1. She was a woman. He wanted to hire lots of women to show what a great feminist he was. He didn’t care if she was qualified.

  8. One just has to look at who appointed Payette to clearly understand why she was a bad choice for GG. The appointer should join the appointee in resignation. What kind of person in power demands citizens to lockdown at home and jets off on a luxury vacation on their citizen’s dime. There is nothing like adding insult to injury. Payette could have very easily did a bad job to collect the generous pension early.
